Almani PA-600.4

the front speakers are 80watts RMS @4ohm and the rear up to 200watts RMS @ 4ohm. is it safe to run 100watts RMS on all 4 speakers? i know it is safe to overpower a little bit but would 100w be too much?

All of them are crap. Are you shopping at Walmart? Woops, neva mind I saw online. If the suggested range is 80w rms then that's what you should stick to, or below on interior speakers. Subwoofers are different and can be manipulated, but I wouldn't try it with normal speakers.

I would imagine, going by the links, that he's shopping at OnlineCarStereo.com //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif but your assertion that the four units he linked to being less than stellar equipment is right on the money...

Raffi's query about your proposed budget is a good one. What kind of money are you looking to spend here?

My personal goto suggestion on cheap, reliable power is usually Profile. Strangely they do not currently have any 4-channel units available on their site (stock changes pretty frequently) but have a look at MillionBuy.com or eBay and you ought to be able to find something that fits your needs fairly inexpensively //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Edit ~ (since you've posted your budget)

Something like this would likely serve you well in my humble opinion. That's from an eBay seller that I have personally dealt with in the past and judging by my own experience it is a source that I wouldn't hesitate to suggest. And for $100/shipped it fits into your stated budget well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Considering that is the exact amp I linked to on eBay in my above post and then again re-quoted below...I would imagine it would do just fine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif You'll pay more getting it from Crutchfield than from eBay but you will also get a valid 3-year warranty buying from Crutchfield. So - if you get from them you have a full 36 months to burn it up and still get it replaced/repaired for free.

For your budget and if you're wanting to buy new rather than used the Profile is likely going to be your best bet. I've used more than a few Profiles in the past and each of them was satisfactory for my needs at the time.

If you're willing to buy used, however, it opens up your options considerably.

so i think i will go with the profile AP1040 then.

it says it requires 4ga. wire though.

i was planning to do this and let me know if it will work or not.

run 4ga. wire from battery to 4farad cap, 4ga. from cap to fused distro block, and about 10" of 8ga. to each amp.

would that be okay? it is 4ga. all the way except the last 10" or so
