New system sundown/audioque

You spend that much on the substage and skimp out on the part of the "system" that plays the other 99.7% of the spectrum?

That's what people do nowadays, good mids/highs are too much work, it's much easier to toss in a 15 with 2 kilowatts and call it a day.

Not any more difficult than some of the builds I've seen that are sub-only or close to it.

Helps to think of it as not "mids & highs" but "the entire musical spectrum except subbass" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I guess one of the big differences is the music you listen to. Rap is mostly bass, at least thats what I hear when I listen to it. Rock is alot more mid/high driven music. You buy the system that makes your music sound best I guess.

Are you talking about speakers?

I have a sundown 100.2

and ordered CDT EF-61CFi/25's

I thought that was pretty good

Looking good, loving the amp/sub combo.

Just a personal recommendation, stay away from CDT. There's some good components to be had in that price range. Diamond D6 components are in your budget, pretty nice. Focal polyglass 165v2's are a little over your budget but they're worth the extra money.

Edit: NVM, you already bought into CDT //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

played it a bit today hits pretty hard like higher bass notes then my btl did. then again the box is tuned a bit higher. Windshield wipers rattle a little bit. box I made is a bit crappy I may end up paying somone to make one. Its louder then the BL was but not quite what my btl use to be, then again my BTL was a 15 so not a even comparison

after using this for a couple days now the sub has already started sound better after the bit of a breaking in. Loudness doesn't seem to have changed but how it hits the lower notes seems better.

very nice equipment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif id use threaded rods before dowels though.

egg

Little wierd thing. With the trunk open just to check the subs movement real quick. Almost no sound was coming out. Trunk closed hits hard actually sounds ok. Maybe a phase problem?

I ended up getting a Kinetik hc800 for the trunk battery. And I ordered a 4 gauge wiring kit from knukonceptz. Also got 0 Gauge to do the big 3 which I have been putting off forever. I will get pics up when I start putting it all in next week.
