New shit from JL Audio for 2007

JESUS! I'm beyond sick of hearing people say "it's overpriced". Might as well put a stamp on your forehead and a name tag on your shirt that says "Here we go again". Seriously, when are people going to get over it. You can either but it at retail, find a good deal on it, or just don't buy it. Regardless, let's quit flooding every quality post about JL with responses of the tired, redundant, overstated "they're overpriced". Seriously, it's old already.
I truly suggest that everytime a JL thread heads into this direction it be locked. There's got to be a hundred posts on this forum with everyone expressing their views on this topic. If someone truly wants to hear both sides, they can use the search button.

/(plausible) rant
your never going to stop hearing it, because they are expensive, but they do have a right to be. I only reason i dont like them is because i get tired of people saying my w7 is the best sub ever made and is way louder than that crap interenet brand. (we were talkin about RE mt). I consistently heard that so i jus stopped likin them. But none the less the consistenly make a great product

JL is expensive. If you don't want to buy it.....DON'T!!! The "my JL sub is better than yours" crap is ridiculous! There is no best sub. Everyones ears are different. It all comes down to install anyway, everyone knows that. But please if someone wants to talk about JL, why do all the people have to come in with the JL sucks crap. If you don't like JL stay out of the thread. We know your opinion, you have said it fifty thousand times!

Quality...as in output and sound quality.

Ratio...how much you put in to how much you get out.

Quality to Cost Ratio... how much quality (output and sound quality) you get compared to how much it cost.

JL can have 10/10 Quality... and 10/10 cost. 10 being most expensive 1 being least expensive. This makes for a 1:1 ratio.

Other companies can have a 10/10 quality and a 5/10 cost. 1:2 ratio.

In this instance the lower the ratio the better.

Really? I have a JL sub that is only one or two years younger than you that's still perfectly functional. I have also never heard of a JL product failing that wasn't user error. So you just have to be special. Well known equals crap to you. Got it. Guess you'd better get a different car cause I seem to remember you driving the same thing as everyone an their brother...
i wouldn't be so sure about that......i

i had their 3 way components and only after 2 months of usage, one of the tweeters went out on me, I never even played it that loud (ferrofluid what?? crossover protection what??)

...and just last month the 500/5 went out too, this is only after a year of usage, it kept going into low ohms mode and overheating..... gains set per JL's specs (protection what, what??) had to send it in, $180.00 repair

at this point, i think it's either my luck or their product is all bullsh*t

I agree. Before I got my system I have now that's all they tried to convince me to do. They were trying to rip me off by selling me The W7 for 1000 and the 1000/1 for the same price. I told them to fck off. Also they ripped me off installing my doorspeakers and amp.

How do most of you guys say it's overpriced? I am 17 and have just about a full JL Audio setup and never has it broke my bank. No, I am no rich, spoiled kid. I Paid for everything. If it was THAT overpriced i would have never considered it. But i also like to sound good and not stupid loud.

Well, what you did it you considered to save your money as for me and some other people on this forum, we looked for things that sound about as good if not better for cheaper. I bought my RE shit from a dealer because it's just as loud as a W7 and half the price. If I had enough money I would buy a W7 probably except the fact that they're heavy as hell and my car already gets shit for gas.

Because I have two 15's of equal magnitude to the w7 that have an MSRP total to that of a single 13w7 MSRP. I have a 1500w amp that has an MSRP of roughly half that of JL's inefficient 1000w amp. I have a pair of Components that I paid less for than what JL's mid level co-ax's go for and they sound 100 times better than any JL passive set up I've heard.

I know you are going to throw the "you don’t pay MSRP" card. You can get the subs and the amp at real world retail for the price of just a pair of 13 w7's. It isn’t that I couldn’t have JL if I wanted it...but I have other places that I could be spending the money I saved and have equaly fantastic results in my system. Am I going to tell you that JL lacks build quality, sound quality, or longevity? No I'm not because that would be a lie. Fact of the matter is the majority of the DIY community will not run JL audio because they will always know in the back of their head they could have gotten even better for the same price. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
