Hello guys. Been building my stereo for a few months now and have run into a little problem. As of now I have a pair of Lms Ultras 18 in aero ported box powered by a pair of DC 2ks strapped, also have two sets of Image Dynamics xs 68 tweets and xs 65 mids up front powered by JL 450/1. MY head unit is a Pioneer DEH something, I forget the model number. It has a clean signal all the way to 62, which is wide open according to my DD1. I have been using my JL amp as my active crossover for my IDs. I have it sounding great to me, loving it so far.
Here is my situation. I have been wanting a touch more power for my mids and highs. As of now I am giving my 6.5 75 watts a piece and my tweets about 40 watts a piece. After hearing how clean my subs sound and how nice my DC 2ks are, I ordered a DC175.4. I thought I could use this amp as my active crossover as I am with my JL, such is not the case.
I need to purchase an electronic crossover or a new HU that I can crossover with. I can not do it with my current HU. Which is a better option do yall think, Crossover with HU or crossover with a separate electronic crossover?
