New Hifonics

I have seen the ampguts and the new 09' line has major electrical changes inside. and a lil fyi for ya. RF, kicker lanzar ect are all made in the same area of the world as the "junk" hifonics using the same component suppliers as well. look at the inside of a newer xenon amp and compare the parts to a hifonics amps guts. lots of stealing going on in those korean assembly plants. Rockford has been 2nd class to me for several yrs now for a reason. overpriced for the components they use simple as that. old school RF was the shiznit the new stuff is just like another poster stated : a 1300 watt amp that says 1kw but with a 1600 watt price and pathetic customer service.

when is the last time you heard of a customer calling them and asking them to design a custom enclosure for a specific vehicle?

Maxxsonics does it everyday. they want the customer to be able to use the product to its potential all day everyday.

and i dont recall ever seeing a test that showed any dif between brand a or b as far as dirty "class d" sound in fact the hyper d chip is patented for a reason. and who utilized class D first? anyone? Fultron aka memphis. they made the first retail class d mono amp for auto use the st1600d I still have 2 running 4 old school dvc type r's in my brothers van

Say what you want. Hifonics has not been the same since they were taken over by Maxxsonics. In the car audio circles the Brutus and Zeus lines have poor reputations. Point blank and simple. With Hifonics Zeus and Brutus lines not the XX line I think of a pig. You are 100% right. If comparisons were made with the XX lines of Hifonics then yes. Quality of XX lines is excellent and I rest my comments.

most people who smoke cheap amps would smoke a more expensive amp..I worked retail for 7 or 8 years...same *** hat that would nuke a 250 dollar hifonics amp would tourch a $800 dollar JL/Kicker/RF/PG/ insert name of your favorite amp here. Even if it was installed by the shop the customers would always get in and start screwing with stuff because their buddies know more than the shops and the installers.....I can remember 100's of times over the years looking at blown amps with gains cranked x overs set wrong and kiddies trying to power 2000+ watts on a stock honda electrical system with EVERYTHING cranked. Instead of learning from THEIR mistakes it is easier on the ego to just call what they bought junk. Hell I even remember a guy who said I was a retard for hooking up his Lanzar Vibe amp "wrong". I had his subs in series and he thought his 89.99 1000 watts of Lanzar Vibe should kill his GF's audiobahn 12's. So I told him how to wire it in parrallel and me and his GF sat back and laughed at him when his fuses would blow on the amp. Was I being a cock? You bet but I was kind enough to give him extra fuses from my own tool box. After about 20 minutes and 4 fuses he got the idea and he learned all about ohms and how an amp with a 30 amp fuse doesnt do 1000 watts. If he had actually knowledge of the process he wouldn't have bought what he did and he wouldn't have gotten schooled by his girl who actually understood what was going on instead of playing like he knew. How do I know she picked up on it? 2 weeks later she had a new JBL amp new MTX subs and the battle scars on her hands of installing it. She gave me a $50 dollar gift certificate for Hooters (the place where she worked) for being honest and thorough that she could "upgrade" herself...funniest part is 3 months later she installed her BF's system and shown it off to me.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif How many Hooter's waitresses do you know who install car audio? I am beginning to think that, I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

He says the xx /xxv line is great but brutus ect are junk but they all use the same exact components inside as most of the other brands do and are all built pretty much side by side by the same chinese/koreans as alot of the other mentioned brands are.

Design and engineering is where it is at. the new xx10 series zeus and brutus incorporates 3oz copper traces and military spec pcb boards that are roughly 50% or more thicker than the last gen. was, which all equates to better cleaner sound and more useable power.

Class D amps are not supposed to get hot, warm maybe but everyone of my RF amps got very hot @ 1 ohm but not 2 ohms and my brutus are relatively cold at any ohms, but at around .6 on 15.2 volts they start to get quite warm.

Put 15 volts to any RF amp at any ohms you want (even 8 ohms) and watch the "magic smoke"

How good an install sounds and how durable it is, is a function of the installer and the user.

If the equipment is installed correctly, as in proper electrical and wiring, and the user doesn't blast it at full volume all day, the components in his system will last for years. This is true for Pyramid just as much as it is for Hifonics or Rockford Fosgate. If you install your gear correctly and run it sensibly, it will last for as long as you take care of it.

I am actually having a good time getting fools like you upset. In all honesty I do not care less about Hifonics. Never used it never will. I am not stupid enough to spend my money on it. I have my thoughts on Hifonics and I think for the money they are a decent brand just not my cup of tea. For you to start insulting a person because of their beliefs shows me your ignorance. it's car audio, I don't need to learn anything. I have been around car audio since 1989. All I care about is taking care of my wife and son, working hard, becoming a black belt one day and serving God and enjoying my system. What you and other people think to me is irrelevant.

BTW the Maxxsonics Autotek Mean Machines are **** good amps. I was skeptical cus ima old school Autotek man, but the new ones live up to the name. Hope they last ten+ years like the oldy but goodies.
