new critical mass sub...

Ahhh I wasn't trying to prove anything. I don't know a lot about their drivers and obviously as you can tell now nor neo. But it is extremely expensive. And I wasn't aware the LMS ultra wasn't conventional my mistake. ANd I guess I went a bit overboard. I just hate marketing in general so i am biased... But on the same note DD's is convent correct? and they have what 30mm one way. now again The woofers may be great.
DD had around 13mm of x-max when the 9500B was put on the DUMAX, by the 70% BL method. I'm pretty sure their coil to top plate ratio has remained fairly similar over the years so I'd expect anywhere from 13-16mm linear from the new 9500s as well.

But... that really isn't important as to what they are used for -- ported box SPL, quite often right at tuning for competition where excursion is limited. They will also "throw" much farther than that, but it's not linear by any means.

Looking at the build, the DD's are probably linear beyond 13-16mm. A driver can still have a linear throw even though BL drops below the magic number...
I suppose it varies on how you define linear, I'm going off 70% BL which generally equates to 10% THD. It's hard to tell with DD anyhow... I've seen some really short 9500 coils and some much longer coils, I'm guessing they change quite a few things based on the coil option that is selected so different impedance models may actually have different 70% BL x-max figures.

I guess it should come as no surprise that this is his 4th username....the other 3 being previously banned......

i guess it shouldn't much of a suprise to everyone here that your a ball tugger and you got a round mouth.

Yeah, usually when I see the word 'linear' I have always equated that to the physical movement of the cone/coil. Distortion levels are quite ambiguous to begin with, since some can detect distortion at 10% and others will detect it at upwards of 25%.

At least there is one defacto standard that nearly all companies have agreed upon. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
