It's been years since I've looked for a sound system since I've been so content with my last one. I went out and bought a Pontiac G8 and I want to put in one of my 555's and use one of my GT28's.... But I still want to amp my fronts and rears. I was thinking of buying a Alpine PDX-F4 since they're on amazon for 300 dollars. Any suggestions on front speakers or other amps? I'm willing to spend 200-250 on front speakers and 300-400 on an amp... but if they're something cheaper that will sound just as great please let me know... I'm not going to spend another 1000 on fronts like I did when the z6's came out!

PS the rears were replaced by the dealership and they put some morels since the stock rears were blown when i bought the car.

2008 Pontiac G8, it's in the first message lol. It's pretty nice since the battery is already in the trunk so I won't have to run too much wire...

It will be hard upgrading the charging lead from Alt to battery...and a lot of the rear trunk GM battery cars have the voltage limited and need special adapters to keep the voltage up...I know my 2008 HHR panel did

You have no idea how much you just depressed me right now... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif that's why I really didn't want a super loud sound system... just a 4 channel amp and one of the GT28's, I've had my fair share of hearing loss already and I'm only 24... haha I'm looking for sound quality.

I still have my pair of GT28's, and still have my GT24... I don't really want to run amps that large in this car. That's why I was asking about the PDX series amps from alpine... just one small amp to run the fronts and rears and then one of my GT28's to run a 555. That should be enough hopefully... I'm planing on taking out the stock 8's that the car came with.

So here's what I picked out. I ordered an Alpine PDX-F4 and that will go into the new car ( G8 ) and I will take my boston z6's out of the old car and put those into the new car along with a set of morel maximos for the rear. For the old car I ordered a set of basic kenwood components 709ps or something. I've got everything tore out the trunk and the rear seat for the new car and will be removing the doors and installing everything as soon as it comes in... now for the dreaded dynomat. I have also been told to use some " great stuff " foam for all the cracks in the trunk that the dynomat can't reach. Does that sound right?

Oh yeah, I'm saddly going to be splitting up the two 555's, the G8 is getting one in a sealed enclosure and the grand prix is getting it in one of the g tuned ported boxes since I have two just sitting around.

"great stuff" is great stuff just dont go overboard with the foam and be mindfull of where your might have access in the future. Also if you seal the trunk too much from the cab the sound is going to have a more difficult time reaching your ears.

I'm removing the two stock 8's on the rear deck so those will act as ports and there is a 2' x 3' arm rest that goes down and is access to the trunk. I'm only putting in foam where there are small crevices, maybe 2 - 3 bottles worth to areas that are enclosed like right behind the trunk latch and other places like that. I just ordered 40 pieces of SDS CLD tiles, I'm planning on doing the whole trunk and the doors with that stuff, I also have some dynomat and stinger road kill left for other places... My main goal is to not being one of those annoying people with the ghetto rattles in the trunk.
