new box design*pics*

I think the design looks pretty terrible and the construction even worse. The ports completely firing into the cabin and the sub completely in the trunk would seem to cause a peak around tuning and very limited output above tuning. The port is not the only contributing part of the system. If this was a bandpass enclosure, it would be a different story. Here, you're going to deal with a ton of reflections coming from the trunk and you could get some serious cancelation problems due to the difference of distance.
It also appears to be tuned pretty high.
yes, the construction obviously isnt very good. if you noticed in the first few sentences i said i used a jig saw to make the cuts.however there are no leaks, so i could care less what it looks like. i had no intention of this working well. i just thought it up and figured it would be cool to try it. i think designed properly and constructed with care...it could do well in a spl application possibly. its probably obvious i have little experience with box design and all the physics involved...but hey, i had fun building it so what the fuck//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah, and the ports are held together with duct tape. I think peakiness is the least of his worries.

ummm yes there is ducktape securing them. there is a peice of pvc connecting the elbow and the aeros....... you dont think i just taped the ****ers together do you?

So if it works out are you gonna take it apart and make it like... good?
well if it works decently...i will try it on a mic sometime, and work with the tuning. and if it works well i will rebuild one built specifically for the AP. but i doubt that will happen

what??? got crackers in your mouth? LOL... speak english....

At least he is trying new things... never know when something might actually work. R & D is the funnest part!
EXACTLY, thank you renee. thats all i really care about. it doesnt bother me if this doesnt work. i have never seen it done before, so who knows, maybe it a really good idea...or it just crap. worst that can happen is that it doesnt make any improvement. or makes it sound worse, who cares:)

haha oh man

anyhow, i did a listening test and it does not sound any better. posibbly some fidling with the tuning will make a big difference, but as of now its no good. oh well, it was worth a try. btw the AP looks much better in the enclosure:yumyum:
