It will work but I'd get some all thread. The Lowe's here sells 10 foot lengths. You could do both though and use the dowel for vertical bracing between the subs.

how would I cut it to size though, 10 ft of threaded rod sounds perfect id be able to do top and bottom and side to side, and a wooden dowel front to back

yea they work ok but the threaded rods work alot better

update! I finished the box and threw the 18s in and it didn't sound no different than my last one. maybe because its not braced yet? anyway, I ended up cutting another cut out and threw another 18 in. yeah 3 18s, get nasty! however my roof looks like a flimsy piece of sheet metal and that is causing major loss of db. I need to throw some serious deadener on it. also I need to get my box braced up. anyhow the box seems like it came out good, considering I came up with the design like in 5 minutes on torres. gets nasty low and painfully high, like my vision has never been so blurred from any system I owned. for the first time in a long time i feel that pain in the ears, on a very wide range of notes at that, love it it came out good. ill post videos soon

told you it was gonna be a low-end monster. now that you say that i think the FS dropped alot or there parameters are outright wrong.. i think its the latter. probably has a lower QE and FS...

they should get low and nasty with 7 per driver. and yes it is going to help when you brace it.. send me one so i can analyze the parameters free of charge of course.. lolz

the box is 16.4 net so each sub seeing maybe over 5 cubes and buy the 4th havoc off me so I can put that money towards deadener!

You should have waited and got some of my monster prototypes I'm getting in. 255 millimeter x32 millimeter top plate with a 255 by 25 millimeter triple stack slugs 25mm backplate with a sinlge piece backplate and tyoke. 3 inch diameter by 82 millimeter tall 4 layer of flat wall copper clad voice coil.

U need to deaden the whole vehicle if you haven't... Once u get so loud u need to stiffen up your panels to keep the sound in... Your prly not getting louder because all your panels just vibrate more.

that exactly whats going on.. flex used to be cool but now its just annoying. horrible sound and loss of db. my roof needs it the most then my rear doors. any good brands out there?

idk man I might stick with the havocs, if anything I might down size because I know I can get louder with 4 15s since I prefer doing no wall in the cargo area

In the shade in 50' weather it's rock solid. it was bubbling and falling off... Andrew was cool and refunded the Money. Good guy.
