Need someone with some XXX knowledge here!!

I don't think it works that easy. It was Pay-Pal but not an E-Bay auction. I think it then gets tied up somehow which may take longer and that would also piss him off to no end where if it doesn't work the way we wish it would I would be real screwed.

I stopped by the shop after work and once again they said they weren't going to waste their time with it. They said it won't move with power! Anyone agree with this statement?

Since this could and probably has happened to others here check out this guys response after getting it back. I just hope I can get out of this or rectify it somehow. I will never buy or attempt to buy used again! This was my first experience with giving it a try and look what I got! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

I just received the sub and opened it up. This is not how I shipped the sub, the cone is pushed in as you stated! The sub left my house working order with the coils moving and the cone moving. I never sell junk like this and I am very upset with what has happened with this transaction. If the cone didnt move when you first received it you should of notified me immediatly. Everyone knows the cone should move, I dont know if it got to your location like that or what not. All I know is that the sub was shipped out working 100% like new in good packaging. This sucks that were in tis dilemma now, what exactly do you want me to do? If I refund your money I will be out $400 because I know I could of gotten at least that much for this sub. I cant see how this could of happend from shipping, only by wrong wiring or misuse. You know that the sub came out of that box with a free moving cone/voicecoils! This is why I only deal through ebay so we both have a peace of mind that there is some kind of protection!

Just checked it out again, looks like the sub was dropped theres a bit chip in the magnet and pieces of magnet on it... Take a look at my ebay pictures again, the surround on the sub sticks out at least 1" and now it is almost flush... I am not trying to be a dick but you know this is not the condition the sub was received by you I am not an idiot.

And the very small chip out of the edge no less of the magnet was there when I received it.

No wonder he ended the auction on E-Bay early to sell it to me. Could you of imagined the shit he would be in if he went the full E-Bay/Pay-Pal route. Sad part is he only had one negative out of 250 transactions. I don't know if this would have played out any different if I bought it through E-Bay. I have a claim at the Resolution Center for Pay-Pal now. It was money out of my checking unlike a credit card or I would have stopped it today. At this point I am trying to make the sub he has in hand his and for it not to come back my way. If not then who on here could fix this sucker so I could tell him send it here and pay to have it fixed before shipping it to me and how much would it cost?

This sucks!

Agreed. I honestly did nothing to this piece. If this damage happened in shipping who is to know. If the box isn't damaged then how could you prove any of that? I don't think I could make a claim. When I shipped it back to him I went the extra mile and got some 2" foam and packed it even more than what it had when I got it. Since it is on my FedEx I could initiate a claim on my end for the sub now at his address. Do you think FedEx would acknoledge this happened in shipping? It's kind of a bogus claim really and I wouldn't like to do it but that may be my only avenue. He has the sub and my money now and I am out $60.00 on the shipping. I thank God I had it checked before sending it to anyone off here! All of my used stuff will go to my Daughter after this. I won't sell a single thing audio on-line. Too much stuff could go wrong! Buyer could tear it up or just general stuff happens in transit!

Well FedEx picked it up and made the determination that no damage to the package or subwoofer. I called them and said it is something you can't really see and that the FedEx guy that picked it up should have spent more time to see the center doesn't move. I told them to escalate it up so I am waiting on a call to relay this to them since it looks like my final straw at getting it covered under FedEx.

If they don't and it goes back for motor work and a recone is their anything that can be done while there to make it play even better?

The crate wasn't damaged, so it is EXTREMELY unlikely the coil became misaligned during transport. And when his excuse was that the driver should have taken the time to see the cone didn't move... uhm so what? All the driver needed to determine was if he had done it, not if its really broken. Sounds more and more like he, the shipper, is trying to scam you, imo.

You are probably right. In your opinion will RE be able to tell exactly what caused the damage when they do the work to it? For my piece of mind it would be nice to know what exactly was the cause.

Robin... you cant just whack it back to center.
Sounds like the motor was broken during shipping. IF and only IF I could get it apart and properly re-centered and glued.... you'd need a recone and the cost of doing the motor repair/realigning.
first time you didnt call me lionel.

looks like ill be sending at least one motor your way then.

FedEx just today said they would honor the claim //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

They will be refunding $416 which includes shipping.

So would you spend the $270 including shipping charges to recone and work the motor on this 2005 XXX-15"

Sell this 2005 XXX-15" in the state it is for $100 and get either an MX-12", MX-15" or possibly go to a 2006 XXX-12".

Makes it tough now! Opinions welcome! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

get your money back. dont send him aything, file a paypal claim. they will give you the money and, go after him for the money. he doesnt have to pay. they cant do shit but, they will give you your money back.
