need some help with a box

See if home depot will do the cuts for you. If not, if you are good with a circular saw and a jigsaw, you should be good. Get a couple of bar clamps and corner clamps too. Titebond II or III for the wood glue. And some caulk.

 
Is it really possible to make an airtight enclosure out of something naturally porous like wood ?

I have seen particle board, and baltic birch. But what is resin ?
