Need Info On a Kicker L5 12"

Anyone know what the diameter of the magnet is on a Kicker L5 12? I am trying to draw up some box plans for one. I know the depth but I need to know if the diameter will work in the box I Skeched.

I'm going to be honest with you bro, L5's ****, you might as well go to your local stereo shop that carries a line of kicker and pick up a pre-fab box. there will be no diffrence in sound ya know? the best think you could do would be to step up to a L7

I agree, I wouldn't waste your time on the L5, I have heard both and just like the L7 a lot better. The L7 gets really loud, just not great sq at all, if you are looking at sq, stay away from L7.

I had 2 12" L5s and thought they were nasty loud. Again SQ isn't great, but why and how would the L7 be much better? If the price isn't much different i would go with the L7 just because, but my L5s kicked ***.

but sorry i cant help with the magnet diameter. Why does this come into play when building the box???

Thanks guys but the guy that I am building the box for already has the sub. Nothing would do but a Kicker sub, so he went out and bought it against my advice. You know how some people get caught up in what they think they must have. Best I can do is try to build him a box that will get the most out of what he has at this point.

The reason I need to know the diameter of the magnet is because it is going into a regular cab truck and I am using sketchup to draw up the box. Knowing the magnet size I can model it to make sure it will fit in the wedge shaped box. Check out the thread by singlefordrange in the enclosure forum and you will see what I mean.

Ha, what are you, new to this shit? L5's ****. ive been doing car stereo for 10 years, they have no sq whatsoever! the only thing that kicker makes thats stands up to all the hype is there old 4channels. dont start a fight you cant win. i bet you dont even know what L5's ohm load are.

I agree 100%. I had 2 L5's 10's and the darn tensil wire kept popping. And NO, I was not over or under powering them. They did come with a warranty so I called Kicker and they replaced them 3 times. After the third set I asked why this was happening. They told me that the wire was manufactured to short. I don't know if this was true but dam, 3 times. After that I got rid of them. They did wang tho.
