Thats what i dont understand i want to do a blowthrough but i dont know anything about 4th or 6th order what exactly does 6th order mean and how do you make it? I saw that vid by exo which is like 3:1 ratio basically like you do 12 ported and 4 sealed or something like that and add them makes 16 cubes..If you want to tune at say 34-35, then those subs will get very loud on 6k. Over 150. Id guess more like 153.
The added bonus of blowthrus is that they tend to play low regardless. Maybe because the cabin provides a bandpass effect, idk. Most blowthrus are designed as a 4th or 6th anyways. Id bet those hds are 6th order friendly
U buy the box design off cscstang or u could try ram designs or BHEI really dont want to buy a box i just want to make my own if you know what i mean it means more to me if i do it myself i hope he can help though.
agreeded, its much more complex that ported designes and 6th order can be as loud as ported designs but its pretty hard to tweek and tune them.If you do a bp, you can construct it but its important to have a good design.
A 4th has a sealed and ported chamber.
6th has 2 ported chambers. TS specs can tell you whether or not a sub prefers one. Its a huge generalization, but usually low qts subs like 6th and higher qts subs like 4th. Other specs matter also. Which is why design is critical
ill sell you my 2 18s, AA havoc v3 1500 rms d1s.. they are louder than my old setup of 4 15s, on half the power at that. imagine what they can do on 1500+rms? damIn all honesty i just want to get loud so you think 2 18s would be louder than 4 soundqubed hds315s? i like that idea because i want need as much box space and ill only have to buy 2 subs instead of 4 but i thought 4 15s would be louder than 2 18s because of cone area..
the zcon is designed to be a high output driver. it has a high BL low QE and stiff spider pack with a low MMS. they are very efficent. cone area is only one part of the factor. the Zcon has a 1w1m efficency rating of 94 DB as compared to TWO of the 15s with a 89.3 and 4 would be 92. its not hte end all factor but its a pretty good indicator of the woofers abilitly to turn electrical power into acoustical power. In all honesty i just want to get loud so you think 2 18s would be louder than 4 soundqubed hds315s? i like that idea because i want need as much box space and ill only have to buy 2 subs instead of 4 but i thought 4 15s would be louder than 2 18s because of cone area..
i like the havoc but they wont handle 3k daily.. in all fairness i think they would give the HDS 15s a run for there money with 2kwill sell you my 2 18s, AA havoc v3 1500 rms d1s.. they are louder than my old setup of 4 15s, on half the power at that. imagine what they can do on 1500+rms? dam
what size is your box, higher QES wofers need a larger box to get low. the QES on the HDS15 is so **** high id only use it in a IB install. KMSLI honestly agree with you man my 12s are loud as crap but they want get low at all they do not like lows at all. And yeah name off some subs that you think will out do 4 15s because i think your idea is better... Right now i have the big three done all 0 gauge sky high ofc not cca wire... Stinger spv70 battery but no alternator upgrade its hard to find alternators for my truck.
2 havoc 18s are capable of 150+db not only that he wouldn't need a bank of batts to give them proper power. I know a guy who was giving his havocs 2500 rms clamped, daily! and the funny thing is, they were the old havocs with a inverted dust cap, the 1250rms havocsi like the havoc but they wont handle 3k daily.. in all fairness i think they would give the HDS 15s a run for there money with 2kw
LOL coming for someone whos system cant paly rock. yea...First three comments are crap. 30h isnt even low tuning. That's about average if u ask me. Most people tune daily 30-35hz.4 15s on two ap3ks "6,000" watts should be able to do 150db on music in a blow thru. If you want to use sound qube go ahead and do so, they are decent budget woofers, others to look at are American bass xfl and fu audio and sundown Sa u can get Bstock on car audio bargain for a cheaper price
