I just bought a 04 Ford Explorer Eddie bauer and has the controls on the steering wheel.

Now i want to install my avic-n2 i have but want to still be able to use the controls. Is that possible? If so what and how do i need to do it

I'm not a newbie to car audio but i am when it comes to making the steering wheel control work also.

Thanks in advance

hey i have the exact same car. 04 white explorer eddie bauer. Man this thing is a pain to find parts for. I am putting in an alpine radio, 1 kicker cvr 15", and a 1000 watt amp. But it had the factory sub and dvd player so i took the stock sub out and the dvd player cant work since i put in a new headunit. W.e. Do u have any pics of ur car?

Thanks but it saids its for GMs will it work on my Ford:confused:

Nice! Mine is red w/ the goldish color on the bottom.

Don't have pics of it right now, i just picked up the truck and being a nut i already have it in parts lol:laugh:

I plan on putting 2 cvr 12s and a 1500 watt Kenwood amp all wired w/ 0 gauge. I bought everything before getting the truck but i forgot about the steering wheel control.

Only pics i have is when it was at the dealership i'll load them and post them in a sec

Buy a $40 PAC SWIX interface
so thats like a universal interface correct?

also whats the LED for?

Once again i'm a newbie when it comes to these interface, sorry for sounding so ignorant:*******:

It retains factory controls of gms which isnt necessary for the fords. It will work on fords, I have installed many of them.
Thanks alot bro:thumbcool:

I'm going to order it now and hopefully get it quickly

No problem just shoot me a pm if you have any questions. They are pretty simple to install and if you go to the website listed in the instructions they should have a step by step installation walk through for your vehicle.

Once again thanks.

Seem like there are alot of knowledge here on this forum, i am glad i found it

I sure hope i don't loose the cruise control which i doubt, but the main reason for me wanting the controls is b/c i'm just use to having control of the radio on the steering wheel. In my previous truck i had bought the Pioneer control that wraps on to the steering wheel. I would add that to this truck but if i have the buttons available why not use them. Me personally i rather pay the $60 and get the interface.

BTW you have pics of your truck?
