Ok, so Im really not happy w/ my current setup and since I have just put a lot of $$ into fixing up my truck I think I will get the stereo setup better. Right now I have 2 Kicker CVR 10's in a ported Q-logic box that is matched up w/ the spec's on the spk's run off a RF 1200 amp(I plan on keeping this because it has ample bass) and I have some low end kenwoods (coaxals) in the doors and rear speaker compartments that are being run off the built in amp of the pioneer hu. As you have probably already guessed I get pretty good bass but the sq of the mids and highs really sucks, especially at higher volumes. What I was thinking was getting some 8" truck box spks and put in the back w/ the subs for good mids and getting some descent components for the front doors. Recomendations are definitely welcome as to what brands and if you see a need for a future setup change. To help, I like to listen to mostly rock and country and when the right song is on at the right time I like it REALLY loud but as clear as possible. With the stuff I have now the bass holds up pretty well at higher volumes but the mids and highs go to crap at anything over volume 20 (out of 60) on the Pioneer hu. I know an amp on the kenwood door spks. would probably help some but w/ the low end spks. I doubt I will still get what I want as far as sq. As for budget I would like to keep it as low as possible but still get the sq I am looking for. The high end I would spend for everything, (amps, spks, etc.) would be $800, although I hope to keep it well below that. I have some Crystal mids, tweets, and x-overs but one of the mids doesn't work (anyone know of a quick fix?). All help greatly appreciated.

Do not put the 8"s behind you and use them as dedicated midbass. Midbass should be heard in stereo (left and right), not to mention that it will throw your soundstage way out of whack.

A good set of components and good amp to push them is all you need IMO. Don't even worry about the rear fill in a truck.
