Need Box Design for 2 12" DD 9512g

IN the pic above the Photobucket sig thingy ... Is the bottom plate suppost to stick out like that? It looks like it is sticking out 3/4"s and the top isnt sticking out... Also does the front plate have to be larger then the first front plate?

no, it wasnt supposed to look like that, thats my bad.....

the bottom piece was actually be building the first front piece

IE: both front pieces are to be cut the same size.

if you wanted to lower the tuning, you would move the port to the right, to make it smaller.

lmk if you want to do that, and how much lower you'd want to go.

the DD recommended specs seem to cater to SPL with the large ports, and high tuning.

lower tuning usually means that the port is smaller, and much, much longer (depending on how low you want to go.

honestly id like to see this box built just to see what it does with all that power on it.

Since this box is smaller then I thought It would be I would like to build two boxes for my car... One for SPL (This Box) and one for Daily/SPL

How hard would it be to bring that same box down to 34-36 Hz?

heres a good rule of thumb.

length remaining the same, if the port area is lower, the tuning is lower.

if the port area remained the same, the longer the port, the lower the tuning.

in this case, if you made the port 5 inches wide, and leave the length the same, it'd bring the volume up to about 5.8 cubes @ 35ish hz

but if you want me to design you a daily box as well, i can do that.

let me go back to the lab and whip up some ish for you

what kind of music do you listen too?

Now that is sweet man... Thanks alot... If I would want to go a lil lower on the tuning would I just make the port longer ?
You do not want to get to close to the back of the box. Right now it's

within 7-8 inches, which is close to the port width. Your going to have

to L at exactly 7.25" inches from the back wall to get the port longer.

I listen to everything... I like Stuff like Korn but I dont listen to that to loud... The only time I have it cranked is when Im listening to rap...

only problem is the tuning would get lower, then the volume would go lower, bringing the tuning right back up.

wouldnt be worth it, with that port area.

im working on a daily design now though, shouldnt take that long.

not gonna be all pretty with the braces though.

lol
