I have a Boston Acoustics GTA-800m. It isn't 1 ohm stable but will do 500 at 4 ohms. I would like $150 for it.

imho, jl is an amp that would be furthest from my mind when you mention abuse. not saying they do not sound great, or put out, but they are hell for repair, and have some real um, "entertaining and creative" failures when they let go... what comes to mind for me, is similar to how that ia450 was described..... cadence. the experience i have had with cadence amps, is the zenith line. anyways, it will not just handle the abuse, but will cook the sub before it will cook itself. had a 400, where i had to give it more input voltage than the pioneer head would put out, but when i did, it went way past the 400. i can only estimate it was doing over 600 sustained. i didn't go any further when the s10's electrical started droppin in the 12's. might try the ia2 "600watt". could probably squeeze 800+ from it. maybe xa250.2.... both 2ohm stereo..
