so my buddy fried it upon install, no idea how but as soon as it came on pop, pop, pop. went the fets

im just trying to figure out if its worth fixing or general idea how much it would cost. thanks guys

i am assuming the way the op reads, it was hooked up backwards?..that sucks.

Email Sundown first and give them the background on the amp as far as when it was purchased and if you still have the receipt because it may still be under warranty....

yep sounds like he wired the positive and negative up backwards. The fets are polarity sensitive.

i know everyone is saying postive/ negative were backwerds, no dice ppl, it was all correct, i watched it get hooked up no issues there. second amp went in like at charm,

and how hard is it to get in contact with sundown? it was bought out of a pawn shop so doubt there will be any warranty for me to use

If no reciept from sundown or authorized dealer no warranty db-r.com is sundowns authorized repair facility.

could have been dropped, or frozen during storage at the pawn shop, or was sold with a problem. got pics?

i can post pics later, original owner had a .5 ohm load on it and couldnt figure why he was blowing his 100 amp fuse daily, he got a breaker and well then we put big three on his car cause he had massive dimming, upon re install pop pop pop it went. i can get pics later but just some burned fets. pics to come

Still hit Sundown up, see what type of deal he'll give ya on the repair or even a trade-up.....

problem is i cant access sundown, i get an error on any pc ive used today, i put a qoute in at dbr also.
