my system vs. my freinds ?????

i have one orion p12d4 with a abahn a8000t im goin to put my sub in a 1.5 cu. ft. ported box set to 37hz in a open car.

my freind has 2 alpine type R's in a 2.25 cu. ft. sealed box powered by a 1600 watt diesel amp (kind of an unknown name or just an underground company). and he has a closed car. which car do u think would be louder.

Its hard to say both of your setups need bigger enclosures. If you want your system to be "louder" than your friends as in sounding loud not SPL meter loud, basically whoevers will hit lower will seem louder but not necesarily hit more db's. If you want to be "louder" than him build a bigger box like 2.4 ft to 31hz with about 35 square inches of port area. Although he could do the same and get a big ported box for his two subs and probably beat you out just becuase he has twice the cone area and i dont think your orion has much more xmax than a type-r.

yeah its just my freind has no idea about systems hes just a rich ***** that bought his and his freind helped him, but i cant take up my whole trunk because........well i just dont want to if i need it for something but do u think my sub would be louder in a 1.5 ported enclosure rated at around 35 hz give or take 2. or a 1 cu. ft sealed box??????? thx for the help guys

Well if all u want is to get loud i agree bigger ported box is best. I thik if ur friend did the same tho he would be louder. His amp isnt the best for his subs tho so you might be able to get him there good luck man.. make sure u use some sound deading if u really want to get this guy... good luck on the box.. i would say ported
