my sub plays only when the volume is high

I have a Kove armegeddon 12"dvc 4ohm sub hooked to a zapco Z3.0 and a 2nd Z3.0 Connected to my mids and highs .If i'm playing a song at normal volume I get no sound from my sub but if I crank it up it starts to play and continue as long as the volume is up but when I turn it down it goes out again.

loose connection. if not see if it does it hooked up to something else.

Gains could be wrong or if you have a sub level it could be to low.

Low signal voltage from head unit

Loose connection or wire/tinsel lead that's getting ready to break.

You should attempt to isolate the bad wire ASAP. If it's wire inside insulation failing it could be a fire hazard.

If it is low voltage from the HU how do I fix it?

I would check what hispl said first. That could be a real problem.

I've had this happen before when a voice coil was going bad on a sub. It's probably just a loose wire or tinsel lead, especially of it's a dual voice coil sub.
