My sub is coming out of my box

I was going to make a thread very similar to this.

I was going to ask if there are any tricks to box building

if you know 100% that you want to be removing the subs

often (say 10 times a year) to adjust and fiddle with the (round)

port legnth to adjust the box tune.

Then I thought I must be stupid because 3/4 mdf will do what

it does, all I can do is possibly pre-drill to avoid cracking.

But that's about it right?

why not just turn the sub maybe 1-1.5" and make fresh holes. the sub's label would probably be at an angle but either way its better than having to put a whole new baffle on.

edit: nevermind i see you took care of it. i didn't get to page 2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

why use tooth picks? i seriously just take a twig/stick from outside and glue it in the hole.
oh, and double baffle with 1 1/2" screws FTW.
toothpicks because they are readily avail. and they are small enough to stuff them into pretty much any sized hole...Twig will work too...

Holy sweetness, I'm glad I asked.Thanks!
Glad you like them, I will be using these and security screws whenever i get around to making an enclosure...

i had to use twigs to fill the holes for where my ports were screwed down. there was no wood left for them to grab and they kept coming out.

no way i was gunna build a hole new front wall for that.

ya and with screw driver yuor less likly to miss and make a hole in the surround:mad:
my friend had his subs installed at a shop and they put a hole right through his dustcap. i lol'ed. it sounded like a hurricane when it played. luckily they owned up to it and replaced it.

no one asked how long was his screws i am willing to bet that was his issue i never had the issue of screws stripping unless i over tighten them and never had an issue where subs come out of the box. got a new 15 in a test box with 4 screws in it and about 1200 watts shootin up its *** and it doesn't even act as if it is gonna come out of the box, and i use 1.5 to 2 inch screws on my subs and 1.75 on my box every 10 inches
