My sub enclosure/amp rack trunk build (30+ pics)

Looks clean my brother very nice. Are you gonna build shrouds over the amps or leave as is ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I'm not sure but I wouldn't mind building a a small box to "just" cover the amps with a window cut out on top to let the amps breath. we will see. for right now my goal is to get everything installed and working. Phase two involves sound dampener. I'll have to remove everything to do that install. once completed I'll look into maybe building amp covers.

Well I first picked out my material. I didn't want to use carpet so I chose fleece. its super soft to the touch and looks clean. I bought 3 yards of it. $15.00

Then I bought sun spray on adhesive. It's meant for fabric, and will bond to wood, metal, plastic, other fabrics, foam, rubber and what ever else you can think of.

then it is just a matter of laying it out and cutiing it to fit what ever you are covering. I folded everything over first to see how it looked and how it would go together before I actually sprayed on the adhesive. I also used staples on the bottom side to help attach the fabric.

pretty easy man.

oh yeah. I just found out my sub arrived. So I'm taking the after noon off from work to go home and install it. I'll have some pics up later today!

a couple more pics:

Sorry I didn't take any pics of the fabric install but since I was alone I got all wrapped up into doing it and forgot to take a few pics. The sub is pretty big.

I ran out of 12 guage and had to use 15 guage along with the 12 guage to hook up the sub. I'll buy more 12 guage tomorrow.

ok here are the last few pics for awhile. I won't be doing any more work on the car till next month. I'll most likely pick up a new battery next week and maybe do the big 3.

Ok so I finished covering the last amp rack and installed the Orion 8004

Stay tuned...more to come.

Looks nice my brother, very clean. D@mn shame that directed doesn't have end caps as well. But still looks very clean. Excellent work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks guys. yeah I wish Directed had the end caps. I actually wanted another orion instead of the Directed amp. I was going to buy a orion 1200D but they were sold out and I couldn't find a good deal on one. Not to mention 1200 watts might be too much for this RL-p.

Thats why you get another one, ChevyAudio has two on a 1200D and it wangs.
