My Sub Choices

I own twelves. Doesn't mean they will SOUND better than a ten (especially on the meter).
In 26 years, you haven't learned that sound quality is judged by ears, and not a meter ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

But yeah, there's no way a 15" can be as tight as a 12". //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

WTF? Meters have nothing to do with how good something sounds... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
What? When you've been around long enough you will hear the difference, just like the meters used to measure DISTORTION. Why don't you try competing in a SQ class before you start preaching SQ and fifteens.

Well, just because of that, I may have to use 15's this year //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What hole did you crawl out of? Good God...

Do they use meters to test for Distortion to determine your score in a competition? Nope. You must go around testing woofers' distortion and when you find the one that measures the lowest, that's the one you'll use because a meter told you it sounded the best. Sorry, but I let my ears decide what sounds best to me, not a meter.

The SpeakerWorks/Richard Clark Grand National used 15" subs...and it won what? 4 Consecutive World Championships. Pull your head out of your *** and get with the times.

It is clear you don't know what you're doing since they DO measure with a meter. And if you do use fifteens to compete give me your info and I'll be there to see you lose. I'm done arguing with rookies. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/moon.gif.9d317aec3339ffe7fde0638df52c628a.gif

Please show me a reputable competition organization that uses distortion measurement as a way to score competitors. Even RTA scoring is little used...but it doesn't measure distortion...

I don't compete, simple as that. No real desire to, what sounds good to me could sound like crap to the next person (specifically, judges) and vice versa. I'd like to see how well you do against the SW/RC GN (assuming it's still intact) in a competition simply because it uses 15's...I doubt you have 4 consecutive World Championships underneath your belt.

Let me guess, you probably think your caps give your system better "SQ" as well... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I forgot to comment on this earlier...but "cone warp at high volumes"? Do you think cones are made out of looseleaf or what?! I believe when you said "high volumes" you actually meant high excursion, but you would already know that because you have been building systems for 12 years now...

You really need to catch up with the times because the days when "15's are sloppy" and long gone...n00b.

In 26 years you've never heard a 15 sound as good as a 10 or 12 ?
Sheesh ... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Seconded.

Ive heard atleast 1 15 and 2 12's sound as good as a 10. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Also, you may go buy a meter to determen your subs SQ but for my equipment my ear tells me what sounds best, i dont care what the meter says.
