My Single 10" Blowthrough, complete install in '03 S10 (pics!)

how much power are you giving this?
The sub is seeing about 1100w. The mids and highs are getting about 165/channel@4 ohms, so I guess the tweeters are seeing about half that. I do plan on doing a 2nd 10" and another amp in the near future, and left myself room to expand without a problem. I doubt I will be posting pictures of THAT install up, though, seeing the awesome feedback I've gotten.

looks good and if you're happy who cares what these clowns think ?
Thank you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I mean I can take some constructive criticism, but I'm not sure why people get so heated about what someone else took their time on and built. It sounds awesome. I've done a lot of installs over the years, and have had lots of different components, including Boston, ALpine, Pioneer Premier, MB Quart, etc. I'm no newbie to CA. Sorry if it isn't the way someone else would have done it, but people make comments like I'm some sort of retard that didn't take EVERYTHING into account. Body flex was taken into account, thus the accordion boot instead of building the box THROUGH the hole. Leakage was taken into account, with the boot, lots of silicone, rubberized undercoating, and eventually the spray in bedliner. Theft was taken into account, with the box being securely fastened to both the bottom and the front of the bed. I mean some of the comments you guys are making are ignorant at best. The truck rides quieter than it did before it had a giant hole hacked through the bed. Everything is sealed and protected, I guarantee you. Now if someone really wanted it, yeah they could steal it. Nothing is theft proof. But the truck has an alarm installed, and if someone wants to rip the box out, they'd have to CUT it out. Through 1 1/2" of MDF all the way around. But I guess I should go out and stand guard, because chances are, it's raining outside, ruining all of my expensive equipment, and some thief is driving up as I type this, ready to tear that box out with 2 hands! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

you put an accordion in it?

thats gonna take some serious skill to play while driving lol.

instead of going with another sub in the future you should get something like this
http://www.techronics.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1810

not from that site but just for specs of sub.
Well, I've tried out a lot of subs, and just really enjoy the SQ of the Type X. I had it in a downfire box in my F150 Supercrew, and it sounded great without being too overbearing. Again, I know it could have been louder with different equipment, and maybe people think it was dumb to do a blow through for one sub, but it wasn't fitting behind the seat, and I'm not going for 'louder'... I wanted a nice, well-balanced sound, and from what I've heard so far, I got what I was looking for. Thanks for the suggestion though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No worries //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I'm sure I'll get flamed some more, because nobody does a blow through when they're going for SQ... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif Oh well... I'm headed out to play with the tweeter placement a bit more. Thanks to the few of you who actually had something positive to say.

Mike

I will agree that the amps/crossovers look pretty nicely done...But I agree with everyone else about the blowout...I just hate seeing someone cut up a nicer vehicle, esp for only one 10", I am sure there could have been different ways to install this thing.

But as long as your happy then I guess it doesnt matter.

just my .02

its a s10 not a lincoln
THANK YOU! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Jebus guys... People go out and by an Astro van and tear it to shit building walls of 18" subs and nobody *****es. THen I go out and buy a cheap S10 as a daily driver, and drop a whopping $5k on it, and people go nuts. It's not like I went out and bought a brand new Dodge Ram Hemi for $35k then hacked a hole through the bed.
