My Single 10" Blowthrough, complete install in '03 S10 (pics!)

my thoughts exactly.
you do realize you just completly ruined the resale value of your truck for a single 10? if you really wanted to you could have probably built a box for behind the seat.

not to mention now you have a wooden box in your bed that looks like crap.

ouch

Looks like a good quality install.. i like it.

What i would have done differently is to go with a 12" instead of a 10" giving you more possibilities to expand and i definitely would have gone ported. Im not to shaggy bout the SQ blow-through but it does look nice.

I wouldn't be worried bout rain or thieves.

this is such a sad thing. A ca.com user can't post his own build log with out it turning into WWIII around here. SSA FTW!
I smell spamburgers cooking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
If I went to all the trouble to screw up my truck I would atleast do something bigger than a sealed 10.......A ported 15 or something man....

Whatever
Thats you, this is him. I doubt he really gives a flying **** what you would do differently in your vehicle.
OP: Nice work. I can dig it. I don't see any other way to fit an x without sacrificing leg room in that truck either. The mounting depth of an X kills that.

For sure... Before I did the 4 Type R 10s last year, I had a single Type R 10 behind the seat, and I WEDGED it in there, behind the passenger seat... that was using 1/2" MDF and having the seat moved up a notch or two. There was no way the X was going in the cab without some pretty extensive fiberglass work, and probably firing up just behind, or as part of, the center console. I just didn't want to go to all that trouble... honestly the blowthrough was the easier of the two options for me. I may wall it off like I did with the other pics I posted of the 4 10s, some time in the future, but for now it sounds super clean. BTW, it rained last night, and no leakage whatsoever. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah, the components are the new SPX-17PROs and the sub is a Type X 10. With the 9887 and the V12 amps, it sounds pretty solid. Always been a fan of the Alpine amps. Very clean sound (to me).

People are afraid of change and cant handle thinking outside the box. As long as you did it right and obviously its your own truck so you can do whatever you want. I think its fine and as you said you may expand in the future and do a full cut through? O well thanks for sharing something new - maybe some of these guys can use their brains for once??

thanks for clearing it up why you didnt center

looks good though i am doing a install blog of my car be sure to pop in and leave a nice comment lol even if it does look like crap lol.

serious though atleast you did it right with taking it all apart!

The tweeters are going in the dash in the stock 4x6 locations, attached to a strip of that stuff that hose clamps are made out of, then angled slightly toward the windshield. They sounded a bit too bright in the doors, and up in the dash really brought the sound stage up as well as gave it a lot of depth... sounds like Kud from Mudvayne is about 10 feet in front of me! Not bad for a little S10... I'll be installing the tweeters tonight then getting the rest of the trim pieces buttoned back up after I clean them.
