I already had 2 in a ported box and it wasn't loud enough, so I got 2 more, and didn't have enough room to go ported and hide them under my cargo cover, I don't want people to look in and see all of it. They don't sound bad in a large sealed box, a little louder than the 3 cvx I had, but not hittin 150 now that's its installed. Oh yeah I don't have the patience to order underground subs and wait for them. I didnt have any bumps and they wether got nice so I went and bought the 2 l7's in a ****** flea market box. Basically my choices that day were L7, cvx, type r, mtx 9500, or some RF subs.
no one will ever, ever. hit 150 in sealed. I do not care what your friend told you, hes a dirty liar.maljr, there is nothing wrong with kicker. opinions are like a****les, every body has 1, some like some dont. I feel they are over priced personaly but who cares. As far as a 150 there is alot to take in to consideration. Did u upgrade the alt? xtra batts? size wire, both powers and speaker. With the right box and power yes u can get a 150.

well thats stupid! the cvx's are the l7 motor in a round sub. a hybrid of l7 and cvx's!I have a stock alt, big 3 in 1/0, HC 800 in back with 1/0 run to it. 4 gauge run to the amps as that's what it takes and 8 gauge to the subs. It does hit loud and hard, haven't properly gain matched my amps yet as all subs share a chamber and 2 amps run it, kind of tuned by ear on the conservative side so maybe I can get more power, but if I were to compare to my 3 12" cvx from last summer, its about the same, maybe gained a db. Hard to say without a term lab and oscope for tuning, but with 70% more cone area and 50% more power than before I'm falling well short of 150, I'm thinking in a 10 or 12 cube ported box it is very managable
Hmmmmm not sure if trolling //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
heh I'm thinking about using my MA Audio HK602sx to power 6 type Rs in 1/3 ohm loads at some point. Need more trunk though the Cavy just won't cut it.
Blah' date=' I don't see it personally.
maybe on the AC mic[/quote']
cant do a ported box, have to keep my stuff on the d/l and hid under the cargo cover, and i personally think sealed sounds better and hits harder, may not vibrate and meter as loud but sounds louder imoif i was trolling id tell you i have 10 pyle red label 12's, 4 boss 4000watt amps, and all i listen to is justin beiber, my shits gonna hit!!Ohh boy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gifYou can't do a ported box but you have space for 4 12' L7s? Have you ever heard a ported box?Build a new box.
~7.5-8cuft net, 3-6" flared ports. Subs up, ports back. Have the ports about 6" from the back hatch.
Start w/ the ports full length, and cut them down as you test. (you will likely peak out w/ the ports ~10-12" long)
When you get to your peak SPL w/ all 3 ports open, your set for competition. The beauty of using 3 ports is this....plug one port (center port) and play it daily //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
It will tune FAR lower and sound good for daily beating.Kicker is about the same thing around here...thisSmh.. What are your dimensions?
