my new set up

Im new to the forum and just getting back into the car audio side of things. I wanted to beef up my little commuter car with a new head unit, subwoofer and amp. I originally purchased a rockford fosgate p3d2 12" sub for the car. ( please share your opinions on this particular sub). I still have not recieved it yet and its been a week since it was ordered. In the mean time, my friend calls me and tells me he has a speaker to sell me for $50. He put it in his car and tried to run it at one ohm and his amp kept going into protection mode. This speaker he just sold me is a Pioneer champion pro 12". (please give me some input on this sub). The sub literally got installed in his car for 10 minutes. Its brand new. The amp im using is a PPI 1000.1 and ill start a thread in the amplifier section getting feedback on it. Im using 4ga power and ground cable. The sub is in a 1.8cuft pre fab (v tec) style box. I finished it last night and its very loud IMO.

Pros and cons on each speaker please and your previous experience with them. Should i keep the poineer or RF when it comes in.

The champions pros are junk. Low end subs d4 usually. And can't handle more than 400 rms new they are $65

The One I Got Is Rated At 3500 Peak And 1000 Rms I Believe It Said.Its A 2 Ohm Dvc. you Saying That Over 400Rms They tear Up?

ive seen those subs before and know which ones your talking about. yes they are 1000w rms but you could also do way better on sql. not a bad sub to get back into the game with but just be nice to it, ive never had good experience with pioneer subs.
