My New/First Car! :)

eh, I plan to get a pretty **** good scholarship since I'm either 1st or 2nd in my class and made above a 30 on all of my practice ACTs (now how close those practice tests are to the real thing, I have no idea... I'll find out in April). And always straight A's. And no, I do not have a job. The only time I do have a job is during the summer which this summer will go ALL to my car.

x2
Like I said, as long as you are a good, responsible kid, I would be OK with it. It's OK to spoil a kid if he works hard at school and stays out of trouble. And the fact that you have a summer job helps too.

Lol at all the people hating because they didn't get a good/free first car. I paid $600 for my first car and I'm not complaining. Sure I wish I could have had a free or nicer car but oh well. There's a lot of jealous people here lol. I don't like Rovers personally but if you're happy with it that's all that matters.

The kid is doing really good in school so I can't really say he's that spoiled
As long as parents teach the kid to value what he has, he should be fine.

Great first car. My first car was a 1988 Lincoln Towncar.

I ran it through a bunch of backyards and went through a wall.

So buying your first car that's fairly expensive is sometimes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif if you get into an accident with it

Never the less good luck. Hope to see some updates soon!

(Don't listen to the bishes on here, consider your self lucky to have fortune in your life) Just don't be a douche

lol yeah dude, when i got my audi when i was 16, everyone figured my "mommy" bought it for me

little did they know that i graduated high school at 16 and enrolled in college so my mom paid half for that and i paid the other half by working hard.. lol

i think they just see someone w/ a nice car thats young and gets jelous //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

my first car i still have a 1990 Cadillac deville bought it when i was 20 for $1500 drove it for like 2-3 years and the ***** went out and took the engien with it spent out another $1500 and put a used rebuilt engien and ***** in it. will i ever get rid of it probably not i love my car and want to get a 1994-95 Cadillac as well . would i take a free range rover hell no . would i ever give my kid a car? hell no he can buy it him self like i did.

You say it will ALL go to your car, but you will spend it, trust me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I love Land Rovers :p they are sexy, but aren't they not the most reliable car?

my first car got 3 mpg......

maybe 12 hwy downhill in neutral. but I had to pay for everything myself

and to those who take the spoiled side or maybe the "rude awakening", his parents will probably support him until getting a good job and he will never have to worry about money. unless he fucks up in college and the parents disown him. then he will have no clue what to do with himself:crap:

no where near the most reliable and repairs ****. pray your parents don't give you the "you can have this as long as you maintain it" speech.

That's basically what happened to me. Yes I got my first car for free at 16, yes my parents pay my insurance. No they don't pay for gas, and I do all my own work on my car. I've payed for any and every upgrade and maintainence on it since I've owned it. Just because somebody gets a car for free doesn't always mean they don't understand and appreciate the value of it. If he has a job and is paying for atleast what he's doing to it, it's better than his parents buying him some rims and his system and hope he doesn't take it for granted. Some people don't realize that some parents want their kids to have a reliable car, a Land Rover isn't the best choice, but if you are sending your kid off to college would you rather them be able to safely get there and back, and not worry about their ride breaking down in the middle of nowhere? I know when I'm a parent if I can afford to I'll be buying his/her first car, it's not going to be some tricked out Corvette or Escalade, something simple and reliable.

I bought my linc for like 6 bills

drove it with no insurance and on some shady temp tags, no license or permit.

That tank was indestructible.

My parents did buy my 2.5 RS but it was a present as highschool grad since i got 32 on the ACT and a honors diploma. Got accepted to like 4 diff colleges. They were pretty proud. My dad spend $1800 on the RS. But I did end up putting a bunch more into it

Nice ride, but I have to admit I've never really liked how the top and rear look on thos things. They look so top heavy. Good luck on your build!

My first car was a 99 mercury sable ls, **** thing was posessed. That Adam Sandler song "Piece of shit car" pretty much described everything about that car. But I love my Dodge now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
