My New/First Car! :)

nice car. I don't turn 16 for another 3 months either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif My car has been sitting in my driveway since midmay last year. I can't drive demos from the dealership so my parents had to get a car anyway. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
prime what car is that in your sig? looks like a a grand am
its a grand prix;)

Word, granted this kid sounds like he grew up around white collars, so I imagine he will be the same way. I don't fault him, but his parents. Then again, I wouldn't turn it down if given to me either, lol!
I don't think it's quite as much of a class thing, more of a common sense thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was given my first car.

My family is not rich at all. We just know how to wisely spend money.

When I got my license. My mom went out and bought a new-ish car for herself and gave me the taurus.

Nice ride, but I have to admit I've never really liked how the top and rear look on thos things. They look so top heavy. Good luck on your build! My first car was a 99 mercury sable ls, **** thing was posessed. That Adam Sandler song "Piece of shit car" pretty much described everything about that car. But I love my Dodge now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I thought the same thing...until I went to a LR place and they took me on the hills. I was about to shit my pants when we went sideways on the hill but it never did think about rolling.

Also about the reliablity...the Discos are A WHOLE lot more reliable than Range Rovers. Not as much shit to go wrong. Only two known problems with them.

1) The Three Amigos: Your ABS system malfunctions & you lose HDC, ABS, & TC but brakes still work completely fine.

2) Head gasket leaks. That's about ~$2000 to fix. But once at around 100k & you won't worry about it again. It's really only like $300 for parts but then a SHIT LOAD of man hours to replace them.

But yeah...off road wise (which it will see some) it is the most capable of any other SUV off the line.

But I like it and thanks for the comments. I don't know whether to go ahead & buy the sub & stair at it or buy all my shit at once.

I see great fail in this young man's life ahead.

Three things you can do to guarantee your future.

1. Give the car back, now.

2. Get a part-time job, and buy your own. You will appreciate it alot more if you pay for it.

3. Tell your parents thanks for raising you, but it is time that you grew up and became a man. You need to learn REAL responsibility and do for yourself.

Do these things, and you will become a productive member of society.

lol Just b/c I got a nice first car? Ok. If they offered it to you, I'm sure you would have turned it down.

Not because you got a nice first car, but because you currently get a free life and all.

I was working for my father at 8yr old. When I was 16, I had my own house. My 16yr old gift, was a 1955 Farmall Super-M tractor, a 2 row JD planter, and 50 gallons of gas.

With that, and great credit from my families' name, I became semi-sucessful in my own right. With proper life choices, great support from your wife/husband (if you are gay), and a good dose of Jesus; you can become anything.

Don't kill yourself over it, just appreciate the gift, son.

tell your parents they fialed giving that vehicle to you. EVERY kid i know that got hand outs from their parents never appreciated anything in life. i'm not blaming you at all....your the victim....your parent's are **** ups. sucks...

rich kids man.
i had a 96 intrepid for my first car 5 years ago. and i still drive it.
so you've been driving for 5 yrs and stillhave the same shitbox:confused:get a job and become a producitve member of society.

who cares if his parents bought it. granted i agree that it doesnt teach kids to value and respect things if they didnt have to work for it. in the end, who caresss??

When I asked my parents if they were going to buy me a car my dad said he would drive me to a job interview and buy me a $50 bike to ride to work if i got the job. I bought my truck when I turned 15 with all my lawn mowing money from an entire summer. Parents paid 3 months of insurance every year until now.

Other than that, gas, insurance, tags, and taxes have all been on me. Title has been in my name since I was 16.

I can guarantee that even if he pays for his own insurance, his parents will keep him on their coverage, which keeps it BEYOND low of what you pay yourself. After 2 1/2 years of perfect driving with no tickets or accidents, AND being military, i'm still paying 80 a month for rock bottom liability.

but i've learned a lot about hard work because of this. my kids will do the same.

this thread looks real green. I can't talk though, my parents bought my first car and likely my second(they're looking hard at an 05 malibu with shitty rims), if they dont buy that then I'll get a G35/Accord V6 coupe with my own money. Where u at in AL?

I dont get how people can drive those. Only one id drive is the HSE, but im not rich either. MY first car will be a 1998 Extended Cab F150 from what it looks like. And you better be a hell of a good driver cuz parts for that thing are going to murder you when you mess up.
