My install's coming along nicely

If your head-unit for some reason isn't powering the DSP on and off with it's remote wire, you can have the DSP turned on and off via the ignition switch which is the red wire going into the head-unit.

This isn't recommended, because your head-unit may be powered off while your DSP is on or vice-versa through other means.

If the amplifiers are powering on and off via your head-unit, the 8-pin wire harness on the DSP is wired incorrectly.

I'm too lazy to find a pin diagram for the DSP unit, and there are 66 pages of PXA-H800 manual I don't want to dig through.

However, typically, all equipment is powered on/off by the blue wire with a white stripe called a remote wire from the head-unit.

As for your dedicated ground cable from the battery to the amps, I think the initial issue is with ground between the battery and the car.

Yes, you probably alleviated the problem with your dedicated 0 gauge cable, but you probably used 10 feet +/- 5 feet of expensive cable.

The Big 3 is significantly shorter. Remember to always use 100% Oxygen Free Copper cables.

There is a LOT of Copper plated aluminum circulating around everywhere and these are by far less conductive of electricity current.
Thank you sir! Respect is earned and you've earned mine! :)

Yes my installer guy likes the wire/cabling from KnuKonceptz and I think it's 100% oxygen free stuff.

Yep, my installer guy is familiar with remote powering on of stuff (amps, etc.) as am I so I'm almost certain he has my H800 DSP wired correctly. I'm curious about the folks here that say their H800 DSPs power on with the HU because not only doesn't mine, but the H800 documentation basically says if you don't have this AI cable thing you have to have a RUX remote controller (wired) to power the H800 up or down.

And I know exactly what you mean about controlling the power to the DSP not tied to the HU, for the exact reason you said, to keep from having the DSP inadvertently powered up. I'd have to install a dash mounted power light to let me instantly know when the DSP was powered up. Oh and the chassis ground we used did not show any significant resistance to a 4AWG jumper cable connected to the battery ground post. But I also understand that would not be a circuit carrying much current, the ohmmeter I mean.

Again thank you for your very interesting and useful words! :)

Yeah, I listen to everything everyone here says, to me anyway. And I take it all with a lot of salt, if you know what that means.
I also think about "Did Alpine just put six RCAs out as a marketing ploy I fell for?" Could be, after all Alpine is an evil multinational CORPORATION!!!

I think about a LOT of things! I try especially to think about THE EVIDENCE!! I try hard not believe in anything with little to no evidence. Like religions and stuff.

I have a kenwood headunit, its has 6 rca preouts, i dont run an eq, xover or dsp. I plugged directly from my headunit into all the amps. Thats y u have so many rcas. If u r using a dsp u only need one set od rcas from headunit to dsp.

AI-net is a specific cable you fvcktard! It's not a hidden function….either the HU has it (and the corresponding plug and cable) or it doesn't….I know what kind of equipment I have, I know how to hook it up correctly…MINE is working, YOURS is not…they are NOT wired the same…You're seriously blaming a HU and saying 'maybe' I have AI-net and just don't know it…rather than ever consider the fact that your incompetent 'Installer gay' can't even figure out how to turn on your fvcking equipment!
You sir are retarded.

Hahahahahahahaha this is rediculously entertaining and at the same time annoying. Sort of like a series. Jst eating some jerky having a great time reading.

Just hope op gets it sorted asap. Dont think there is moreadvice anyone can give on this topic. Maybe op should go past a proper car audio shop.

Think the specialists can sort u out in 30min.

Pretty sure your installer guy is not what he says he is and definitely not who u think he is.

He's been told this before, many times. He chooses not to listen to us, calling us "amatuers"....and he's an expert at this hobby, claiming he's messed around with car audio long ago. Which I don't believe and neither does anyone else.

I have had great advice from you guys on this forum. And have learned a **** load.

I to am no expert in car audio yet. But i have learned alot. And i love learning. Car audio is a passion more so than a hobby. If op doesnt want to listen then its his flaw. As an Electric engineer which he claims to be then he doesnt know much. Not being rude. But i as noob (4years in audio) understand everything u guys advised him on.

Anyway im done with this topic. Moving to topics with positive vibes.

Yep one more unsubstantiated bit of hearsay evidence, and thank you. I trust what you type is what you think is true and I respect that.

Oh well, as I HAVE a DSP I guess the mounting evidence indicates I didn't need to order and use six 7.5ft custom RCAs. Well, at least I have the RCA cables necessary to run my HU directly into my amps and bypass the DSP is I ever need to though! I doubt the triple RCA redundancy is gonna hurt the operation of my system althoujgh at least ONE Caraudio.com evil denzien told m,e it would not work! But that's the kind of junk I've come to expect around here.

And after all, they ARE PURPLE! :)

John Kuthe...

And, THEY ARE CAST METAL!!

Kicker 15" speaker grills! Why did none of the online ads I saw for them SAY they were cast metal, probably aluminum? I had to buy one to find out!!

I have NEVER called anyone here an "amateur", ever!! Boomin_tahoe is LYING!! :-(

So I will file that fact away, for now.

15" grill on a 12" sub hidden under a fold down compartment. That makes sense. Yeah......good thing you didn't pay that know it all award winning shop in your area to do it right. And you say you have more money than needed so you payed back woods @ss guy off Craigslist. When you could've paid a shop what you spent and have a really nice system. I know I know.....they wouldn't install that equipment made by the gods aka alpine. but at least those purple rcas should give you a few extra dbs. We all know blue and black ones make everything sound muddy. God d@mn bath salts........see kids. ^^^^this is why you don't do drugs =)
