My First System

ive been looking into a small system for awhile now, but after doing some research on products and car audio overall ive decided to finally get started

im more into SQ than SPL.. and since its my first system its going to be a simple setup... one 12" JL 12w3v3 sub with a Hifonics TXI 7506 mono amp to match the sub and a custom made sealed enclosure with 1.5 cubic feet.. i know JLs are overpriced but i came across this sub for VERY cheap.. i couldnt pass it down

also later down the line ill be upgrading from my stock HU and 6.5s to some nice aftermarket ones.. but for now my entire sound system is stock

my W3V3, delivered to my house about a week and a half ago

right now all i have is crappy quality pics off my camera phone.. will get better pics soon

any constructive negitive/positive comments and suggestions would be helpful... most of you guys know more about this stuff than i would.. im still learning as am i going

update:

so i ordered the Hifonics Amp on ebay from a power seller Yesterday... i wake up around 2pm today and get the tracking number from them.. i check the tracking # and it says the status was already delievered.. confused as hell i look outside my patio and its right there... fastest service ive ever encountered //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

still no digi cam... couldnt get a hold of my friend so im stuck with my low quality camera phone

now that i have my amp and sub im going to be looking for a amp wiring kit.. can anyone suggest me a decent quality kit that isnt to expensive.. my budget would probably be $45-$55shipped

for future reference dont put ur ipod by trhe magnet, i think it can mess it up?

and for a smalleer system that you want more SQ that sub should be good

didnt think of that... if it helps, the ipod was definatly not touching the magnet when i took the pic

well not to get off topic or anything if a magnet comes close to it, it messes up.......if you got a cheap comp monitor turn it on and then pout a mag by it, its accually kind of fun

well not to get off topic or anything if a magnet comes close to it, it messes up.......if you got a cheap comp monitor turn it on and then pout a mag by it, its accually kind of fun

i checked my ipod and it works fine, would the sub's maget get affected or damaged in any way?

and for the moniter thing.. i did that experiment a few times when i was youger lol

can anyone point me towards a decent quality wiring kit? also what gauge should i go? 4 or 8 gauge?

edit: would something like this be good enough and would this include everything i need to wire my system up?

My first real system used the same sub! 12w3, I still have it (in my sis's car now). I love that thing. I was using a U.S. amps usa-400 I believe. Have you figured out a box yet? Sealed, ported?

for that?! youd be fine with 10..but go with 8 if your gunna upgrade later

since im going more towards SQ i decided to go for a custom made Sealed Enclosure with around 1.4 - 1.5 cubic feet of volume.. btw all this is going into a 2001 Accord EX 4dr

im guessing you ran the sub at 400rms? how did it sound overall?

Great stuff you have man, alot better than my first system ever was! Glad to see you starting with quality stuff, not that sony/pyramid stuff,lmao. Anyway, this kit would be good for you

Edi: 4gauge is kinda overkill but it will allow for future upgrades if you wanna add a mid/high amp. Look around Knu's site they have some 8gauge kits too
