My first recone was a disaster :(

Who said it was ****ed up internally? the problem was with the surround sticking to the glue on the basket.

The subs are both fine internally, one of them is free airing in the basment as I type. No hint of coil rub, and nothing is rattling.

I reconed AQ's and T3's I noticed you mentioned you used envelopes for shims. From doing both brands the AQ has a WAY tighter gap, I used the thin plastic sheets DJ supplied and on the T3 Tsns woofer you wouldnt believe the gap that woofers got and im not even gonna mention what i used for shims on that thing lol.

vid of free air? btw ur camera's date is kinda.... wrong.
Yea , I was in a hurry trying to take the pics and change the oil in my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif , they are free airing off 100 watts rms, so the cone is BARELY moving, Scott used triple spiders and they seem mighty stiff.

Why free-air them on so little power? If you are attempting to hear any coil rub, more excursion is more likely to make it noticeable, if there is any. And if you are just wanting to loosen the suspension (break-in period) more cone/suspension travel, the faster/better it'll work also.

Umm..you should have put the gasket around the basket...that holds the surround down while the glue dries..there's nothing wrong with using epoxy, i've built tons of subs with it at shows when we don't have time for the CA to dry over night..epoxy gets hard quick and is VERY strong...

If all else fails you can ride down here and bring them to me, i can do it in about 5 minutes...

Thanks!

Thanks Nick and Chad for the offer, very strong possibility if they fall apart on me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
