My engine build

Well of course but I was just pointing out that those specific things have nothing to do with power. Instead of commenting on what he says why not just encourage him to finish it instead of being negative about it. Who the **** cares if it has 300 HP or not. He's obviously having fun and enjoying himself. My V-8 might not even make 300 HP for all I know, I haven't even dynoed it.
i'm definitely with you on the finish part. i'm sure he is having fun with it but there is that level of truth you need to face. grant it he's came out with it now with a more realist outlook of 210 hp. i'm pretty sure your gonna actually be in the 220-225 just b/c i have a friend who did an all motor set up on his GSR and he got to 220 with all bolt ons, head work, cams, and hondata.

if you ever get the urge to get some more power down, i'll sell you my nitrous kit.

Indeed. Those engines are not designed to put out a ton of power. Neither are the transmissions......

Yeah, it is definitely fun, but I never said I'd make 300 hp.

It'd be nice though to get those numbers. I'll post up the dyno sheets for sure. If the tune is good enough, there may be the chance of those numbers, but you never know with these build.

I wanna stay away from nitrous though lol. Thanks for the offer but I wanna keep it reliable too and don't like the whole concept of nitrous.

12.1...isn't your engine stock 11.1? if that's all you're changing and a tune i would be surprised if it hits above 220whp even with the cams + tune + extended rev limiter. but that's me.

are you planning on dynoing after you get it in?

good luck with getting it back in!

get it to spin to 9k that would be bad ***.
stroke is too long for the weight of the parts:cool:

however, the hc pistons are only $2 more per piston than the stock replacements.....I have been kicking myself for years for not going ahead and spending the extra $16:crap:

Well it was 10 something with the ls pistons, or maybe even 9. I forgot. I'm changing a little more though. I'm changing it with a b16 head, cams(but not til later on) have GSR ones for now, pumps, pistons and a intake manifold.

I'll go calculate my old compression right now

EDIT: Compression before was 9.6:1

Well, I have some good, exciting news. It is a real good chance I'll have this done next week.

I need to find some machine shops that will balance my crank and shotpeen my rods. Also, getting the AC and power steering belt pulleys cut off since the AC one chipped and would have to be removed anyways. I'm researching what shops will be able to do all of that right now then dropping them off tomorrow night.

Monday I am going to a honda dealership and ordering new parts that I'll need to finish up like

Rod Bearings

Main Beraings

Gasket Kit

Motor Mounts(found out one was blown when taking engine out)

Timing Belt

Also ordering from another store

GSR Head Studs

ARP Rod Bolts

Golden Eagle LS VTEC KIT

If I have everything by friday night next week, I can assemble the motor back together and have it ready to be dropped in saturday. Hopefully everything works out.

That is still really quick. Have you ever done 1/4 mile?
It has never run the 1/4 because there isn't a 1/4 strip close enough to me( I would have to go find "Wareshoals" wherever the hell that is)...I know it doesn't mean much, but calculated 1/4 looks pretty good:D

check out a place called "Bucks engine parts" I found everything I needed through them and @ lower than online prices......They have a store near me, but I'm pretty sure they have others and will ship.

A rev limiter it their for a reason. The valve train cannot handle the extra rpms. Springs start breaking, valves float, contact pistons, bad things happen. We have destroyed many parts / rotating assemblies by valve train failure. I fail to see what your referring too, or you just have no idea what your talking about.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

uhh ok...like i said even with an extended rev limiter he's not going to hit 220whp. beeeefing up the valvetrain isn't that expensive and i'm sure it can handle 1k more with stock springs.

valve float is my rev limiter bish
