Moving the sub to the top and leaving port on the side.

I plan on making this but would like to put the sub on top like the one seen below, would that affect the sound?

What do you think ?

I'll stick to the top pic then , you helped me with a t-Line once , remember ? I had a w7 in it, it was nice. Quick question, my port isn't 2.25" as drawing shows it's actually 2.25" how did this affect my tune? I didn't do it on purpose and it was too much work to try to repair so I just went along with it.

I actually ended up going with is :
