Most watts I can have before dimming?

With my current setup, HC1400 in front and same alternator with big 3, i get dim at full volume.

Alpine PDX-4.100 and Orion 1200D powering a Kicker L7 at 2ohm(725watts).

Well, I'll have to try it then. I was going for around 2500watts, but guess that's not possible with my electrical system.

Why think in current? You should think in watts. Current and voltage are never constant, but your amps are trying to make constant power based in watts. If you only think in current, then you lose sight of voltage.

I would say that your system should be able to do 1400W at idle and about 2500W while driving without dimming. That is just a best guess. The only true way to tell is to test it out.

Because not all amps have the same efficiency under load...

What the hell is a Jiggawatt?
