13 volts is ok thats above battery voltage which means your alt is still taking the grunt of the work and is supplying enough so that its not robbing your battery power

You are good man. No sweat. When you start dropping below 12 or so its time to worry and it could damage your alternator. Right now you are more then fine... however if you are going to be competeing you dont want drop. Youw ill need some more reserve in the form of batteries or upgrade your alt. but for just bumping around town your good to go

ok monday i will make a vid of voltage drop now and i will post another vid after i get AGM batt under hood, if batts didnt help then y do alot of people on here that compete have a 200+ amp alt with a batt bank? if batts didnt help then no one would use em? if im wrong then let me know cuz im not a pro i just go with what i see

what is a batterys resting voltage? it is 12.6 your alt produces voltage more than this unless you have a 16volt battery bank your batterys wont come into play until your voltage reaches theirs the ideal thing is to have a alt that can keep your voltage where it is supposed to be which is ~14v when the voltage drops to 12.6v thats when your batterys come into play

how much will a 260 amp alt handel for wattage then?

also how do the people @ comps get a alt big enough to handel all that wattage, i see vids of guys burping 5,000 Watts and even more and if i do the math correctly 5000 watts divided by 14 volts thats about 357.....and i aint seen no one on here with a alt doin 350+ at idle cuz no one is movin @ the comps....even steve meade has 1200 amps on his ALTs and thats mathmaticly supports 18,000 watts and thats calculating with his 15volt MLA so where is the other 10k WATTS commin from? i just dont get it i hope sumone can help me thanks

burping is different.. burping is just a few seconds... you get tons of batts then they expel all their energy in a burp then you turn them off and run run run ur truck until they recharge.. obviously if your beating down the street your alt cannot catch up.. 260A is a big alt... mine was 140 and the biggest i could get it rebuilt was around 235 A.. lots of people run multiple amplifiers... You cant tell how many watts takes how many amps.. your amp will have an amp rating as to how many amps it needs. Read your booklet
