I have a 15" DB drive okur k9 powered by an autotek atc2000.1. The otherday the + box terminal melted n the wire also. I rewired everything with 8g wire. I hooked it up n now it sounds like crap!! I rechecked the wireing, voice coils, and cone. Everything's fine but major distortion. Is it blown? Bad voice coil? Bad terminal?

The DB drive is a great sub other then the mount ring(where the screws go). The rings made of rubber, if u put even one screw in crooked it will pull up the surround. Otherwise this sub hits hard n low.

I have no idea. It worked fine then cut off(only sub).

I popped the trunk n the + box terminal n speaker wire to amp was melted.

All the wireing on the box was fine too. It was just the terminal on the box.

Id use a minimum of 12 ga on my subs, and 14ga on my speakers is what I use.Recommend using a minimum of 12 ga wire for your subs.Keep all wiring as far away from the amp heatsink as possible also.

Alright!! I figured it out. Cuz the box terminal melted, I took it out. The hole from the terminal on the box caused my sub to over excursion. I just put a new terminal in and it fixed the problem. Thankx tho
