Alpine 9855 RCA-Aux Adapter Wont Work?!

Ok so at the moment Im not running active so I went and bought and RCA to AUX cord to run my Ipod... Tried to wire it in and it will not work... It worked for just a bit but was very very faint and you had to crank it then nothing... Im frustrated as hell so any input here?

What is the cable you used? Kca-121b? Alpine has several AI-net cables, which one depends on the year.

I didnt order an Ai net cable... I just got an RCA to 3.5mm wire....

Dude, it doesn't have an RCA AUX input, those are RCA outputs. You need the AI-net interface cable to get an AUX input.

lol. that is silly. You plugged RCAs into the OUTputs of your deck and expected to get an output out of a 3.5mm OUTput?? Not sure if you have ever messed with a DVD player, CD player, car stereo, etc. BUT The output is providing a source of something while and input accepts the output from something else. Going from output to output is like trying to make one penis have sex with another penis. It doesn't really work like that.

You need outputs and inputs for most things the work properly together.

You got some output from your method because there is some bleed-through, but you should disconnect the cable so you don't damage the HU.

You only need one.
