Med Budget 97 Honda Accord Build

I only used 5 wires for my install - super easy

I am getting ready to add another wire and a relay but that is because I want my heater to run without my stereo turning on

Did some work today.

I got real sick over the weekend and wasn't able to get anything done.

I finished up the 'Big 3' by running a 4 gauge from the Alt to the battery Positive. It looks close to the exhaust shield in this pic but it is actually a few inches above it. I zipped it to the A/C line so it will not move or touch anything.

I used some old split loom I had laying in the yard (literally) where the wire ran next to the metal line. I am going to order some TechFlex soon and do it the right way.

I ran another 4 gauge to the rear (making a total of 2 runs)

While digging around today I found this new never used 1/0 fuse holder that also has some reducer rings. Instead of using 2 - 4 gauge fuse holders I am going to just used this one. It has a 200 Amp fuse in it.

I ran this relay also it is triggered from the remote start. It has an 8 gauge wire ran to the battery for power. It works perfectly. Now when the car is remote started the car starts and the heater fan blows but the radio and running lights and everything else stays off, exactly how I wanted it.

Got some work done today.

I took out the rear seat and rear deck. Not one clip came out with the rear deck.

If you do not have one of these Clip pullers you should get one.

It pops out the clips super easy and fast. Works much better than the flat head / plyers method

Tomorrow I am going to put Fat Mat on the top of the rear deck.

I am going to use my heat gun to warm things up to help with it sticking in this colder weather.

I thought I was going to have to break out the cut off saw to cut out the rear supports that were behind the back seat blocking my way into the trunk.

However, I was super happy to find that they bolt in.

here what the support on the left side looked like

and with them removed - look at all that room!!!

now with that big space open I can slide this little tiny box into the trunk

looks a little wet out that way haha.
We get some flooding here.

I got stuck away from my house earlier this year and had to get my neighbor with his skidder to get me over my driveway.

That little bit of road above the Skidder is where my driveway meets the road.

the date is wrong in this pic.

Another shot from that day.

Worked on it some more today.

Like Danny Glover said "I'm getting too old for this ish"

My body hurts

Anyway here are some pics.

Old vs new

Test fitting

Ran both 4 gauge wires into a 1/0 gauge fuse Holder

Also FYI - I bought some cadence 4 gauge from someone on this board - it is the size of some 8 gauge that I have, def not real 4 gauge at all.

Here is how it sits now.

I ran out of daylight today and my GF has to drive the car to work tomorrow and works 26 of the next 48 hours.

I will be able to work on the car some more this Friday afternoon.

Impressions - wow!

I bridged the Mb Quart amp so I am running much more power to the front stage.

Also I think I had some polarity issuse with the rear speakers that I had (but are now removed)

I never understood why my front stage (German made Q series MB Quart components in fully deadened doors)

It never sounded that good, kinda muddy.

I think 1 or more of the rear drivers were out of phase because now the front is so clear and warm.

It sounds like I remember the speakers sounding. So much better than before.

Also those speakers love some power and now they are getting it.

As far as the bass - wow, really really good. Very low. Drops much lower than my last few systems.

I am super happy and cannot wait to do some tuning and get my HO alt installed.
