hey guys have an audioque 3500 and i have my four sa-8's hooked up to a 2ohm load on it...now i beleive this amp should put out 2400rms at 2ohms?? which in my calculations is like 69volts?? but when i goto set the gains with them on MAX i can only get about 50volts....my clipping light is pretty much solid on the bass nob also...its sounds pretty loud but that just doesnt seem right to me...50volts is only about 1250watts? and if the clipping light is accurate its clipping dirty power... i hear no distortion tho...also my head unit is a pioneer z110bt...volume 16/35 i think?? sub level all the way up no bass boast and eq pretty flat......

well thats what the problem was...i only had it at 16/40 because my mids and highs are already killer loud there lol but that was it..kicked the eq down a bit on the mids and highs and turned the volume up to 20/25 and its much better...lol must just have been the different sensitivity on this amp compared to my old kicker because i could get 70volts out of it on 16....how accurate are the clipping lights on these tho..because it still clipps at like 30volts... buts it sounds clean and no smelly coils....i guess if i just used my dads o-scope i could figure it out myself lol but has anyone else checked its accuracy??

You need to set the headunit to highest you will listen to it at. I believe my Alpines went to like 35 or so and i would always set at about 28-29 to that respective for clipping and such. If your headunit goes to 40, i would set gains at right around 32-35 for both subs and mids and highs.

ok well i put everything to flat and started over at 30 which is 3/4 up...and it sounds much better now but so some reason the clipping light is still on even down to like 30volts...i have absolutly no voltage drop and a steady 13.6 volts to the amp... just seems like the light is not accurate..theirs no way im only getting about 450watts of "clean" power hooked to 2ohms....

i can however now turn it up as high as l ike 90..although it sounds perfect at about 55-60volts...no distortion and playing music just fine without any smelling coils...just not sure about the light but i will just check it on the o-scope tomorrow

hey i have yet to install it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif it looks great and voltage is great just havnt had the time and still debating where to put it!! but man AWESOME job with the packaging!!
