Max gain?

What volume are you setting gains at? If you're up at .25V, you are getting low voltage from your HU. Should be higher than that.

See tahts what i thought, but I swear my sub needs a higher gain. At .25v it would no where near match the volume of my speakers. EQ is at -2 for 100hz and +1 for 500hz and +1 for 12.5 khz. HPF is 80hz constant and my speakers **** at mid bass so I had to take it out of them. I think my equipment is just weird because my sub can beat. Even the guy at my local audio shop could not believe it was a 10" and my amp never gets hot. Maybe I just got a frankenstein amp :/

You NEED a DMM or 'scope. If your HU has 5V preouts and your gain is at max you're probably driving the amp to full power at 1/4 volume. Above that the amp just clips. Not getting hot is meaningless.

Op buy a dmm, they are cheap.( Less than 20$) and set your gains properly.
