Major voltage drop

Okay so when I'm driving my car my voltage will go from 14.6 down to about 13 volts when I'm really pounding it. When I pull up to a stoplight my voltage will stay at 13.6 and drop very badly. So I've come to the conclusion I need another battery. We'll here's the thing. I have an advanced auto autocraft gold battery rated at 800 cca. Would that work and if so is it ok because I believe that battery would give off some kind of gas in the sealed environment in my trunk. Also how do I run that battery do I have to make a second 0 guage run or what?

And just incase my system is 2 12 inch pioneer subs. Pushing 500 RMS. In a custom ported box that I made.

What amp are you running?

What amp and what's the factory alt?

Okay don't laugh. But it's a lanzar htg 257. It's a 2000 watt but doesn't put out anywhere near that which I know. I bought it because my subs run 400 rms each and this lanzar is capable of putting out about 950 watts rms bridged.

The alternator is the factory one it's a 94 grand marquis so it should be putting out like what 135 amps or something.

There you go....Cheap amp an i bet you have no big 3 upgrade rite. I had a Boss "3k" amp that would pull on my elec system the same way. Believe it or not my much more powerful zxs1500.1 made my lights dim a lil less even thought it is 5x the amp. Just better quality i guess. So yea get an AGM an Big 3 then a real amp. Especially if u made a box. All 3 upgrades will run u $5-600 but if ur a BassHead its well worth it

Big 3 is done already and so your saying the autocraft battery won't work in the trunk as a second battery.

No its not a sealed battery, hella danger zone....thers ways around it, but that requires vents an all. Just invest in AGM batts

No it's definately not a sealed agm battery. It has the little caps you pour acid into.
