major problem. distorting

got 2 12 type rs and made a 5.50 cube at 34 hz and installed it today and it is just distorting bad at low volumes just getting worse if i turn it up a little. even at low volumes i can hear the distortion. whats the problem wired up at 2 ohms correctly to a 2400 orion. i thought a ported box would hit hard and clean. it sucks bad, help......also the box plan only has 1 portwall going from th efront to the back but nothing coming across the rear of the subs. is this causing the subs to unload.? but since i made it to spec i thought it would sound good

as long as its made to spec your box is fine. do you have your subsonic filter set to right around 34 hz on your amp?

yea its all bass 35 to 80 even higher bas it all has a sound of the coil vibrating inside or something, im sayin at really low volume, i played freak a leek right now and it hurt my ears just has a botomming out disortion sound??? just sounds like really dirty bass. nothin im proud of. what do i need to change...this cant be right

my guess is that your subs are out of phase, that one sub is pushing in while the other is pushing out. real easy fix.

what do i do...i double checked everything and i have them parallel 4 ohm vc to 2ohm load to each channel.. do i have to switch one because they are in the same enclosure and not seperate?? sounds like holding ur finger over the cone and let it vibrate on ur fingernail. its not bottoming cause the lower the note the better it sounds? just got a weird slapping sound.

umm did you adjust the gain on your amp yet?

yup it set. it just when the bass is punchy its worse. sounds like a dustcap is loose, but it isnt. whats wierd is i had the same setup but in a sealed box right before this and it sounded good. and threw them in a ported box and i get the sound out of the speakers. its not clipping or bottoming out. cause n low notes its clean and hard. kinda sounds like it farts when the bass first hits or punchy bass but as soon as the initial bass note hits u hear it when its over and the note contiues to play its gone

both? they both do it the same, but i just pulled them out of a sealed box and they were clean? i dont get it. they have been stinkin pretty bad...i only play it hard for like 10 min at a time...
