Tips to cutting a good circle?

I really don't feel like going out and borrowing a buddies router, then having to buy a jasper jig. Does anyone have any tips to cutting a good circle? And if I do buy a jasper jig, does it fit all routers?

i get a scrape piece of wood and put screws in it (as far apart as the radius) and that scratches a circle into the wood.... then use a jigsaw very slowly to get a nice circle.

I used a compass {for those of you that took geometry} to make the circle and then i went to lowes and bought a 15 jig and it woked perfectly. then i used some 60 grit sandpaper to finish it out. total budget ~20 and now i have a jig for the next project.

A jasper jig is the best way to cut a circle...outside of a CNC router or something like that.

Jasper Jig's do not fit all routers either, but they do fit alot.

i honestly don't know. i walked in and asked for the cheapest jigsaw they had and i told him what i was doing he handed me a "Taskforce" brand and said good luck.

The smaller Jasper jig didn't fit my Skil router, so I just drilled/countersunk 3 holes into it and it works fine. Jasper is the way to go for cutting circles.

i can trace around the oustide of the speaker and use a jig saw, i have done enough. Sometimes i use a compass but you have to get a big one, my old *** one will only make a circle big enoug for a 10

yep just bought a jasper jig today... and yep if it doesn't fit your router you can drill new counter sunk holes to make it fit.. can't wait to build my box....
