You cannot go wrong with the L7 if you want low end and SPL. I believe you said you had 1200 watts to give it which is perfect for the 15L7. Just make sure your box is built on the large end of what kicker says and tune low (26-30). Also remember that the L7 has around 20% more cone area than an average round sub which is a huge advantage if you are looking for a 1 sub set-up. I had the 15 inch L7 in a sealed box that was 2.5 cubes which is on the smaller end and a JL 500/1 and there is no question that set-up got louder and a tad lower than my current setup which is a 12 inch Brahma with 1200 watts in a 2.0 cube box tuned to 26hz. I did not have a meter but my steering wheel shook much much more with the L7 especially on those notes around 30hz.
