Los33 2000 GMC Sierra Build Log

Are you setting up the port on the driver side for the benefit of the mic? Or is the goal the loudest from the driver seat? Making sure the passenger side is loudest for demos?
Both.. Daily driving it will be loud.. I dont want to be getting hit hard while cruising.

This is nearly done.. Just need a little more bondo in the inside and more support work then wiring..

Also the amps are not crooked. The box is tilted.

Just noticed space on bottom is good but top is tight

Yeah, that's why I didn't make my box bigger. Didn't want to make it wedge shape, so I was limited on space if I wanted to be able to keep the seats all the way back.

I wanted mine loudest for the passenger during demos. Port on driver's side is a good choice for most goals

Why bondo?? Bondo gets dry and cracks with vibration.

If you need to seal gaps, use resin or silicone caulk

Its not auto bondo, im using elmers probondo made for wood. It has saw dust mixed in..

Sanding the cr4p out of it didnt even do much.. Had to go 80 grip to get it to sand down..

Also i dont mind the driving. Ive tested it out and im still comfortable.

I was gonna wedge the shape for full space, but f4ck that it was too much work for my first wall..

Ok, thought you were using body filler bondo. That's different

I like to be fully comfortable when I drive. Seat back like a real G

Yeah, wedge space was too much hassle

This is coming along nicely //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

Yeah, my original plan was to run wire from that corner so i was gonna make a nice section to do so, but i ended up not doing it so instead of wasting wood i did a double baffle 45 on that corner to cover it up and smooth air flow towards the port.

I succ at wood work so i made lots of ugly cuts and uneven cuts. I have to fix wayyyyyyy too many issues hahah..

Anyway if i see the bondo is not holding i will go fiber glass which i did not want to do.

This was my first wall so i plan to tear it down in the near future to make an even better one. Once extra bondo is done and subs are mounted and wired i will make a video of it in action.

I may even record how i crawl in the box thru the sub hole //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Question ? Why do you guy build these in the truck ? Seem it would be much easier on the bench ? or will it not fit through the doorway ? Looks like it would, But I am old and hate crawling around in the truck. As far as wood work I am pretty good and if you lived near me I would have fixed you up with getting it all pre fabed up. I would like to build a wall- not for my truck but for someone else. I think it would be fun.

My reason for building in truck is because mounting piece by piece inside the truck gave me a much easier way to mount a single layer of wood to the truck and mount the next layer to the pre mounted wood.

Also double baffle walls weigh a shiit ton and i am the only one available to do anything since most i know are busy during the week.

Ya it would be heavy thats for sure.

Is that 1/2 inch ply doubled or 3/4 ?
