Dam, so do I think I should buy a better amp n what amp kit should I get

Well it was just something I picked up for 75 so I just dawged it all amps will run fine if you run the correct impedance and some well built good quality amps will run below impedance just depends what you grab and how much research you find on it as well as how good your electrical is , as far as telling you what to grab idk because everyone has their own preferances , music choice , spl sq sql , what type of car , how much space in the trunk you have and what size alt and kind of battery you have all become factors when upgrading you would have to give us more info in all categories to point you in the right direction as well as what is you budget for what your looking for first step id say is getting rid of your current setup to line your pockets thats a good start

Ok thanks man I'll check online for sum things

easy start is custom box. if you're looking for a bit louder then ported will be your best (assuming you listen to music with more lows rather than punchy bass). will depend on your taste of music.

you don't necessarily need massive 18" woofers unless you really want to go all out. I wouldn't imagine you'd be jumping from sony to 18" woofers. I'd say try a couple of 12"s and see how you like them. you can go with new subs/box combo and see how it sounds on the xplod. if you want better than upgrade the amp afterwards.

if you have the time/money then wait off and just save/buy new sub/amp/box combo completely. do a little research/reading on here and go through classifieds- you'll find some good stuff.

I had a custom box made for a single 12" sub, threw an American Bass XFL 12" in there on an Alpine MRX-M100 amp for a while and it was as loud (and cleaner/punchier) as my friend's 2 12" CVRs in a kicker-made box on a kicker 1000W RMS amp. The box is a huge factor in volume and quality. Now I have a Hifonics BRX1600.1d amp and it is even cleaner and a tiny bit louder.

Yeah it just depends on the quality and how the sub is built Ive used 2 12s for years then recently for a few years been using 1 sub setups grabing high quality woofers and I get louder than most 2-3 sub setups in my city just being in a well built box

I love my setup... XS Power D680, 1200W RMS@2 ohms from the amp, 7.85 cu. ft. kerf-ported box. Clean and tight in rock/country music yet loud as hell when I turn up the bass knob in rap or dubstep, especially in the low notes. All of this wasn't cheap though, probably have $800 into the sub, amp, box, wiring, and battery.
