Looking to Upgrade my Kicker Comp vr w new subs

Those Street Duties Sound nice! but i dont know where to get a custom box @ any recomendations ? & Those should work nice with my MRP-1000 ? Because I dont want to upradge my amp quite yet.

what he really needs is teh PUPS!!
for what your working with i would run a single 12/15 setup. ill probably get bashed for saying run a 15, but if put in the right enclosure it will have the tight response your looking for and still be able to get low (depending on the sub of course)

the lvl 4 10 suggested earlier would also be a good choice.

also if you want more punch out of your system you should probably look into upgrading your midbass, a nice pair of mid bass drivers and an amp for them will actually go a long way, when looking for quick bass response.
You're darn tootin that lvl4 10 would turn the trick

Also about big single woofer setups; I've been considering getting an 18" Level 4 and no one has said anything to me about it, all you really have to do to get good performance out of a big sub for rock music is turn the bass down on the HU and the sub won't hit as hard, but that's okay because you're not trying to have huge bass with rock music.

contact either of them for a design, rabbit will design, build, and ship for under 200, RAM will just design, and you can take the design to a fabricator somewhere in your area.

I interpret 'punchy' to mean his 15"ers are too big. Try some 12s or 10s. I don't think there's anything wrong with Kicker CVRs.
Kill yourself. You have no idea what youre talking about. The size of the speaker con has nothing to do with how "punchy" the subs are. I hate craigslist car audio terms more than I hate noobs who think they know what they are talking about. The correct enclosure, power, and a good amount of motor force determines the accuracy of the bass or in your terms "punchy" CVRs and Comps from kicker are overpriced junk. Coils are small, the motors are covered with giant plastic boots to make them look cool and there is no reason why anyone should ever pay 300 dollars for one. I have run everything from an 18 to an 8 and I could get the same, if not better bass response out of the 18 that I could from the 8s. There are people on this forum, including myself that would redefine your idea of loud and "punchy" with a number of single subs.

I lold.

edit: not at you jay mack but at nate's wording. welcome to the forum mr. mack. That is a misconception I also had a while ago.

nate does have a very good point.

the majority of people that want a system have no clue what loud really is, dont have an idea what true punch is, my single 15 has very quick response, and loves metal and rock.

its all about the box.

Sorry if I didn't quite use the right terms (punchy) to refer to the responsiveness lol I didn't know how angry it made all you car audio experts ! Just lookin for some help! Thanks to the ones who actually helped!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif & those who ****** my balls through my thread please go get some ***** I promise you won't get so upset about things that really arnt a factor! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Lolz and +1 for turning off the bass boost. In the end it just makes things messy. I suppose you could relate it to putting large amounts of nitrous on a completely stock engine without upgraded internals. The engine won't like it... It was happy the way it was... stop putting nitrous in me.... POW!!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Instead of bass boost, try EQing or adjusting other things to get your desired bass. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif let us know what you end up doing and if you need more help.
