Looking to buy gaming computer

Do you have any parts that you could transfer to the new computer? I would focus the money on CPU, Video, and RAM in that order. I'm not saying any of those are less important. But I'd spend more on a better CPU (quad can be picked up for 266). Let me know if you have anything laying around.

As it was said...build it yourself. Very simple to do. Newegg.com //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i build my own so i cant suggest a prebuilt. only other suggestion i have is get a decent power supply in it. newer video cards are the most power hungry components in the system

not sure about the HD series, but i would guess they pull about 120 watts at full power

c2d only pull about 65 watts, dont get a pentium d those suckers use up to 130 watts

I really dont have time to sit down and build a pc, nor the inclination to either. I remember when I though of it as "fun" to build a new system. That was like years ago. Try working in the IT field 15 years and get back to me on how you feel too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Tis why I steered clear of that field. I practically grew up with computers in my crib and was building them by the time I was 15 (blazing fast 386 based). You would think I would naturally gravitate to something in that area. Hell no. When you do things on a daily because you HAVE to, it can no longer be a time wasting hobby, it's just work.

Thanks, im glad someone understands. My first computer was a Vic 20 and I was writing code in 5th grade....so by age 34, I dont even like fixing windows dll's. It reminds me, its like when my GF explains what I do for a living to people as a "computer guru for the army" I instantly think "oh great, now they know who to bother when their **** breaks :crap:" ... I just get her to tell them im a plumber.....go figure the irony //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I guess i'll just slap something together... I appreciate the suggestions though.

I think 500 is going to be hard to pull it off, at $750 you will get much more bang for your buck including vif card.

I just bought

HD3850

C2D 6750

4Gb G.SKILL

Gigbyte Mobo

500GB WD HD

and the same coolermaster case in your second link, LOVE THE CASE the USB, headphone jacks etc on top is nice for my location.

My guess would be I spent around $750 after all the rebates and **** and it runs everything pretty nice though I have not tried Crysis yet.

I paid $450.00 for my ATI X1800XT. $500 for a gaming pc?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Keep saving up just a little so u have no regrets in the future.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I was handed down a Vic20 from my bro before my dad got me a C64. I also dabbled with a sinclair a friend had.

Good times lol.

My wife knows better than to let people know I am more than proficient around a computer. I can't stand these scenarios.

Them: My computer keeps giving me this message then rebooting. What do you think it is.

Me: What does the message say and what code did it give you.

Them: I don't know.

Me: Go **** yourself then.

A few of those from my parents friends and I realized I don't have the patience for morons on computers.

Yeah id never get an ECS or a Pentium D. Core 2 duo is where its at for gaming at the minmum. What I think i'll do is instead of actually doing my job tomorrow, i'll surf pricewatch and see what I can slap together.
