Incorrect. It shows you are responsible for the debts you take upon yourself, raising your score.

Check out the Citi mtvU. It's one of the best for students. Cash back features and such.

I always stick with Am Ex Blue. I have no cash back or anything, but also no fees whatsoever. Also, 0 liability for unauthorized purchases. That to me is the most important thing, worth more than cash back or and perks.

Anytime I've had a wrong charge, I call Am Ex and they handle it in about 2 seconds. No questions asked. Love the support.

Discover's support has also always been good to me.

no no no i guess he was trying to say if you dont use the card you must have a balance which is true you have to obtain a balance and pay the balance monthly to for a + mark on your credit if you dont use your card and dont have anything to pay there is nothing to report ..

like i said before interest is charged for outstanding balance if you say you have a charged $400 and pay you only have to pay $400 when the bill come in if you don't pay the full balance interest charged will be added to the remaining balance carried from that month ...

Sit down with a representative and ask them how to build up your credit in the fastest way possible. you can get a rush card the one endorsed by russel simmons, its basically like a creadit card that you put cash into the account then if you spend it all or charge over what you have in the account it gets declined, therefore no debt no problems //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yea your right i was just trying to get a head start and hear what you guys have been through and learned. And i actually did learn some from this thread which was my only intention.

i dont think he was knocking anyone hes just saying i should get an opinion by someone who does this for a living rather than taking everything i read here as the bible. thanks for your help thou you helped me out a lot.

what do you younger guys that are basically doing the same thing as me think about this card? https://www.citicards.com/cards/wv/cardDetail.do?screenID=911 seems to be what i was looking for and then id get a gas card for gas only.
